1. DON'T MISS THE DEADLINE!
In most states you have until 12/15 to #GetCovered, but 9 states + DC have longer deadlines to sign up (though your coverage may start later).

2. MAKE SURE YOU ENROLL IN AN ACTUAL ACA PLAN!
There's lots of scam sites out there, plus sites which are legal but still mix ACA plans with junk plans. Stick to either the official ACA exchange sites *or* to authorized partner sites which *only* sell fully ACA-compliant plans.

If you live in CA, MA, NJ or VT, you may be eligible for additional state subsidies on top of the federal ACA subsidies. In CA, many of those who *aren't* eligible for federal subsidies can still get state help!

It's a long, stupid story, but the bottom line is that thanks to something called #SilverLoading, some people may be able to get a Bronze or even a Gold plan for $0/month.

7. DO *NOT* LET YOURSELF BE "PASSIVELY" AUTO-RENEWED!
Most current ACA exchange enrollees will be auto-renewed to the same/similar plan if they take no action...but they could be missing out on a much better deal. ACTIVELY SHOP to see if there's a better value for you this year.

ONE MORE THING: Even with the threat of the Trump/GOP lawsuit about to be heard by the Supreme Court, you should STILL #GetCovered during Open Enrollment anyway, for 5 reasons:
1. Their decision is still an unknown.
2. IF DEMS WIN A TRIFECTA, they could render the case moot.
3. They *could* kick the case back down the line again (unlikely).
4. They *could* put a stay on their ruling (unlikely).
5. The ruling isn't expected until next spring.
