Nanaia Mahuta four years ago also became the country's first female member of parliament to wear a moko kauae, a traditional tattoo on her chin. The country's previous foreign minister, Winston Peters, is also Māori. #NewZealand

- Almost half of the lawmakers will be women -- significantly higher than global average of 25%.

One hundred years after white American women got the right to vote thanks to the 19th amendment, there are still some white American men boasting that they force their wives to vote the way they want them to?
“Benevolent patriarchy” is patriarchy. Authors of the book, “Nasty Women and Bad Hombres: Gender and Race in the 2016 US Presidential Election,” found that GOP women were just fine & benefited thank you from what those same women claim is oppression when it comes to Muslim women.

Wealthy, white, cis(het), able-bodied Christian men completed conservative domination of #SCOTUS w/ confirmation of an obedient white, cishet, Christian extremist mother.

As with #Egypt, this homoerotic bare and barrel-chested display in Algeria is happening in a homophobic country where same-sex relations are punishable by 2yrs in jail and a court recently convicted 44 on homosexuality charges
