#Balochistan: BRAS released footage of an ambush against Pakistani Frontier Corps, leading to the destruction of 2 vehicles, 15 deaths & various weapons captured.
BRAS/BLA are proven to have the ability to conduct effective ambushes using small arms & RPG against technicals.
1/
The video starts with two soft Toyotas being hit by large quantities of small arms fire from SVD/PSL, PK(M), AKs and M16s from above the road. They swiftly crash and BRAS insurgents push the vehicles.
2/
Fighters carrying AKs and M16A4 advance on the pickups and pump rounds in at close range into the Frontier Corps in the back. It appears to me that at least 3 were executed there and then next to their comrades.
The insurgents seem to have no time concerns.
3/
Here's a good view of the ambush site. As can be seen, the terrain is ideal. Vehicles are also hit with RPG (Seems to be OG-7V, which can be effective on non armoured vehicles)
4/
BRAS fighters proceed to strip the vehicles of materiel. See in images 2 and 3 M16A4 with ACOG carried. This rifle is likely more effective and accurate than the great bulk of FC small arms. M16A4 in the DMR role are popular among Baloch Insurgents. (Purchased from Afghan)
5/
Various celebrations. The vehicles are burned after being entirely stripped.
6/
And here is what was captured- some really interesting and varied kit- Pakistan obviously doesn't bother to equip or protect FC properly.
Seen: 1x Type 80, 1x MG3, 2x G3, 1x T1 AK, 3x T56/AKM, 2x AMD-65, 1x "AKS-74U" (Seems to be a Daraa 7.62x39 copy), plenty of other kit.
7/
Attackers seen. Note plenty of PSL/SVD among the AKs, AK(s) with GP-25/30. This is typical of Baloch groups, who seem to specialise in initiating ranged combat.
No M16s seen, but it is clear at least a few were used. Baloch insurgents remain as dangerous as ever.

Latest #Pakistan Taliban video abt their snipers is quite interesting. Fighters are seen travserving the rugged mountains of the border regions, before using SVD rifles to snipe Pakistani troops.
Quite well edited/filmed. Note variety of camo/lack of here, and captured G3A3.
1/
Fighters are seen using their Chinese/Russian SVDs (Strictly a DMR, but likely the best option available) to hit Pakistani troops at small outposts and bases. They seem to successfully avoid being silhouetted. Level of concealmeant varies from this....
2/
..to this. Militants seem to take advantage of the terrain to ambush Pakistani authorities' vehicles (Pic 3) and to get close enough to kill soldiers/border corps etc unwise enough to reveal themselves. Pic 4 shows a shot man tumbling. The terrain is really interesting
Latest ISIS vid frm #Afghanistan is mostly criticising the #Taliban but here I's post stuff I found interesting from the combat/ghanimah, mainly from Kunar/Nangarhar in Summer 2019. No particular order.
Capture of Pulsar & ATN thermal optics from Taliban fighters seen here.
1/
Quite rarely seen good practices like this sniper (Note foreend resting on a bag) using an SVD.
Much of the footage is ISIS fighters hitting Taliban from long range with MG fire (3rd pic)
2/
Young fighter with AKM and GP-30 UGL. Note AK-74 style muzzle device, cell attacker with what seems to be an AKS-74/74U copy, although this is a little unclear.
A extremely rare Type 1 AK captured in Nangarhar, these do turn up from time to time.
Footage of a 7x ATGM strike by HRE in Ghazawiya/Xzewiyê (N. Aleppo).
Whilst dramatic (Esssentially ripple firing ATGM), the hits only caused a few injuries among TSK/HRE, w/ apparently rather loose target selection by the HRE insurgents behind the lines.
[Pt. 1]
This approach is markedly different from PKK ATGM use against TSK in Iraq/Turkey, and even from typical HRE usage patterns. The use of potent rather potent (& expensive) 9K115-2 Metis-M1 indicate fresh supply, likely from the regime, a key HRE materiel benefactor.
[Pt 2]
Metis pattern ATGM use by HRE isn't super rare, but previously 9K111/M113 were the ATGM of choice. The Metis-M has been in regime hands for yrs & is v. portable, & latest version has a greatly increased range (2km), making it rather attactive for HRE.
#Nigeria: ISWA released pic from an attack in #Magumeri in which a claimed 10 NA were killed.
Notable capture of small arms; the fairly rare Polish Beryl M762, Bulgarian AR-M1 & MG-1M, Type 80 machine gun, PG-7VM/S for RPG-7 and more
1/
Rather large quantities of HMG ammo including boxed, loose and magazines, FN MAG, PK pattern MG, Type 56 AKs, a likely Turkish shotgun and a quite rarely seen SSG 69 precision rifle. Likely HMG too.
Leads me to believe possibly a higher grade NA unit ambushed than usual.
2/
As well as that technical(s) were captured. Overall yet more ghanimah for ISWA as NA continues to claim that the "remnents" of the terrorists are "on the run".
In reality, operational tempo is the highest it has been for many months. 3x dead NA shown, which I won't share.
A nic epic of the ammo your all you 7.62x39 nerds to ID 😉
(Oh and I should note that the Bulgarian AK fits the AR-M1F41 in ever way but the HG looks different to standard, presuming may be a factory option)
Having looked at superior pics this now looks to be a AR-M5F41 as supplied to India-not M1F41; damage to the top (presumably removing the rail that is there too along w/ the top cover, leaving BCG exposed) threw me off.
[THREAD] On the latest ISIS #Khayr video as regards equipment and TTPs.
Much of the video is filler regarding the SDF, the West, and Coronavirus, but there are some points to note.
1/
The video essentially shows a collection of low level IED, shooting, and burning attacks against the SDF, civilians, etc.
Unlike in regime areas, and some parts of Iraq, NE Syria has been able to keep down IS ops with direct coalition operations and support for the SDF
2/
So we get the typical view of IED manufacture and use here, which whilst low level does show there is an amount of retained capability by IS fighters locally, some of which have been there since the area was taken by SDF, and some of which have moved into the area.
