November is now the deadliest month yet with 11 days to go.
October had been Iowa's deadliest month with 373 deaths from coronavirus reported (see tweet below).

November has now passed that in 19 days.

Deaths were reported in Appanoose, Black Hawk (2), Buena Vista, Calhoun, Carroll, Cass, Cerro Gordo (2), Clinton, Dubuque (2), Floyd, Grundy (3), Ida, Jackson, Jasper, Jones, Keokuk (2), Marshall, Mills, Plymouth (2), Polk (5), Pottawattamie (3), Scott (2), Winnebago & Wright.
On a day with 38 deaths, Iowa reports that hospitalizations for COV ID-19 were down 11 to 1,516 - 2nd highest yet - including 286 in intensive care (up 3) and 135 on ventilators (up 1 and highest yet).

There were 233 new admissions to Iowa hospitals in the last 24-hour period.
Iowa reports there are 94 "outbreaks" at long-term care facilities in Iowa (same as yesterday).

Between 10 am Nov. 18 and 10 am Nov. 19, Iowa reported 4,195 new cases of coronavirus, for total of 198,674.

Subtracting deaths (2,102) and "recoveries" (112,778), there are now 83,794 active cases of coronavirus in Iowa - the highest yet - or one out of every 38 Iowans!
The 4,195 new cases were confirmed on 10,426 new reported tests (up from 1,123,465 to 1,133,891) for a rate of 40.2%.

The state's "positive case analysis" shows 2,570 new cases on 10,903 tests for a rate of 23.6%.

Even without missing cases, that rate is way too high!
Because of storm recovery matters, I won't be able to provide daily county data until tonight.

If you need specific county data, email me at:
rob [dot] hogg [at] legis [dot] iowa [dot] gov.

Please mourn the dead, support loved ones and caregivers, and help stop the spread.
Below is the thread with the county-by-county data for the 24 hours between 10 am Nov. 18 and 10 am Nov. 19.

Hopefully, I will be able to get back on schedule tomorrow and provide that Friday morning.
