25 more deaths (2,127 total)
180 deaths reported in last week (Nov. 13-20) (highest yet)
412 deaths reported so far in November (highest yet)
144 patients on ventilators (highest yet)
4,359 new cases
Coronavirus deaths were reported in Adair, Allamakee (2), Appanoose, Benton, Black Hawk, Buchanan, Cerro Gordo, Delaware, Dubuque, Floyd, Hamilton, Hancock, Ida, Jasper (2), Jones, Muscatine, Polk (2), Pottawattamie, Scott (2), Woodbury, and Wright Counties.
All across Iowa.
Iowa reported 23 new long-term care coronavirus "outbreaks," pushing total to 117 (highest yet).
Sadly, Iowa also reports that 982 long-term care residents have now died from coronavirus.
Please mourn the dead, support loved ones and caregivers, and help stop the spread.
On a day when 25 more deaths are reported, hospitalizations dropped by 69 to 1,447. The drop is good, but sadly, that includes 275 on intensive care (down 11) and 144 on ventilators (up 9 and the highest yet).
A month ago (Oct. 20), Iowa had 501 hospitalized for coronavirus.
There were 207 new admissions to Iowa hospitals for coronavirus in the last 24-hour period.
That's the 10th day in a row with over 200 admissions to Iowa hospitals for coronavirus.
During that 10 days, 255 Iowans have died from coronavirus.
Between 10 am Nov. 19 and 10 am Nov. 20, there were 4,359 new cases of coronavirus confirmed in Iowa, for a total of 203,033.
Going over 200,000 is a big deal. It's an even bigger deal that 75,676 of those cases have been reported in less than three weeks in November.
It's an even bigger deal that we hit a new record for active coronavirus cases.
Subtracting deaths (2,127) and "recoveries" (114,290) from total cases (203,033), there are now 86,616 active cases of coronavirus in Iowa - the highest yet - or one out of every 37 Iowans!
The 4,359 new cases were confirmed on 10,778 reported tests (from 1,133,891 to 1,144,669) for a rate showing COVID-19 of 40.4%.
The state's "positive case analysis" showed 2,342 new cases on 10,022 tests for rate of 23.4%.
Even without the missing cases, that's very high!
Note about sources: The state doesn't show what it counts in its "positive case analysis" at coronavirus.iowa.gov.
My numbers compare the county spreadsheet provided at that website on the prior day at 10 am with the current day at 10 am.

As recently as Halloween, that was 11,305.
On September 1, it was 4,538.
That's a lot of kids who have tested positive for coronavirus in under three months.

Now, I am sharing the county data during that same time period. I hope tomorrow to be able to do it earlier in the day.
