How can grandparents spend time with their children during #COVID19?

Kids, meet Ario - a kind, orange dragon with a horn-like a unicorn, who will introduce you to #COVID19 and help you understand how to protect yourself, your families, and friends from the #coronavirus

📚 The book “My Hero is You, How kids can fight COVID-19!” - aimed at children aged 6-11 years old helps them

✅ understand & come to terms with #COVID19
✅ explains how to manage difficult emotions when
confronted with COVID-19.

“So we can’t fight the #COVID19 because we can’t see it?”
Sara asked.

“We can fight it,” said Sara’s mum. “The virus affects many kinds of people, and everyone can help us fight it. Children are special and they can help too”

How can we stay safe from the #COVID19?

“Sometimes when we are feeling very afraid or unsafe, it can help to imagine a safe place in our minds.". Ario asked the children to close their eyes and imagine a place where they feel safe.

The 📚book “My Hero is You, How kids can fight #COVID19!” is now available in over 100 languages.

Help your children understand & manage their anxiety around COVID-19 👉
Try taking 20 minutes doing something the kids choose – like playing a game or reading - together with them.

No phone or TV so you can focus on them.

Quality time will make them feel safe and loved.

Exercise helps kids with a lot of energy (and adults) to de-stress when we #StayAtHome

Let your child choose the music and have a 10-minute dance! You might even impress them with your moves! 💃🕺 👯

More parenting tips during #COVID19
Praise is powerful. Try praising your child or teenager for something they have done well.

Do it in a genuine way.

They may not show it, but you’ll see them doing that good thing again.

A structured day helps kids feel secure and makes it easier to manage them.

Try making a timetable, with schoolwork, games, free time, exercise, and handwashing.

Take charge of your days - routine up!

Talk to your children about #COVID19.
It’s hard for them not to hear about it.

Silence & secrets do not protect our children. Honesty & openness do.

Think about how much they will understand. You know them best.

"Children are the true value to our society and the true resource we send to future"-@DrMikeRyan

🆕WHO has made a conditional recommendation against the use of remdesivir in hospitalized #COVID19 patients, as there is currently no evidence that remdesivir improves survival or reduces need for ventilation in these patients.

👉 Image
A conditional recommendation is issued when the evidence around the benefits and risks of an intervention is less certain. In this case, there is a conditional recommendation against the use of remdesivir for #COVID19 at present.

👉 Image
This does not rule out an intervention’s benefit, instead, it means that there isn’t enough evidence to support the use of remdesivir for #COVID19.
