Today, we're going to the Supreme Court to continue our challenge against President Trump's attempt to politicize the #2020Census and exclude undocumented immigrants from the congressional apportionment.
We won't allow this president to put politics above the law.
The Constitution & Census Act are crystal clear — every person residing in the US during the census, regardless of legal status, must be counted.
The president is trying to politicize the census to deny immigrant-rich states, like New York, our fair representation in Congress.
La Constitución y el Acto del Censo son claras: todos que residan en los EE.UU. durante el censo, sin importar su estatus legal, deben ser contados.
El presidente trata de politizar el censo para negar a los estados con inmigrantes, como NY, representación justa en el Congreso.
President Trump’s repeated attempts to hinder, impair, and prejudice an accurate #2020Census have repeatedly failed, and we have all the confidence that his illegal actions will fail once again.
Everyone counts, and therefore, everyone must be counted.

I took action to force the Trump Organization, and specifically EVP Eric Trump, to comply with my office’s ongoing investigation into its financial dealings.
For months, the Trump Organization has failed to fully comply with our subpoenas in this investigation.
Our investigation began after Michael Cohen testified before Congress that Trump’s annual financial statements inflated the values of his assets to obtain favorable terms for loans & insurance coverage, while also deflating the value of other assets to reduce real estate taxes.
We are seeking thousands of documents and testimony from multiple witnesses regarding several Trump Organization properties and transactions, including from Eric Trump, who was intimately involved in one or more transactions under review.
We are seeking to dissolve the NRA for years of self-dealing and illegal conduct that violate New York’s charities laws and undermine its own mission.
The NRA diverted millions of dollars away from its charitable mission for personal use by senior leadership.
Our lawsuit charges the NRA as a whole and four senior leaders, including Wayne LaPierre, with failing to manage the NRA’s funds and failing to follow numerous state and federal laws.
These actions contributed to the loss of more than $64 million in just three years for the NRA.
We just finished hearing from our 100th witness over the past two days.
Our investigation of the interactions between the police and the public during the recent protests will benefit immeasurably from the testimony we have heard.
Thank you to our two advisors, former United States Attorney General, Loretta Lynch and @barryfriedman1, Founder & Faculty Director of the @policingproject at @nyulaw for their participation.
Their commitment to fairness and equality was clear throughout these hearings.
Most importantly: Thank you to all the New Yorkers who bravely testified yesterday and today. Your stories are critical to our efforts to seek justice.
Thank you for your courage, for your voice, and for your drive to help this city and nation live up to our highest ideals.
I understand the @NYPDnews is telling the press that they were not "formally" invited to this hearing. The NYPD was, in fact, invited on multiple occasions.
On June 10 at ~7:40pm, the Commanding Officer of the NYPD Legal Bureau, who has been liaising with our team on this investigation, was informed about the hearing and the @NYPDnews was invited to attend.
On June 11 at ~10:10am, a written Public Notice about the hearing was shared with the @NYPDnews via email.
This email was shared with the Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Legal Matters and the Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for the NYPD.
My office is conducting an independent investigation into the NYPD’s actions throughout these protests and the policies and systemic realities that inform these actions.
Political protest is a fundamental civil right. One that must be protected against unlawful infringement.
We also must be clear what these protests are about: another life lost in a long line of unarmed Black people killed at the hands of law enforcement.
And a system that has allowed this to happen time and time again without making fundamental changes.
