There is a popular adage where I come from that says "a person's house is far only when we do not love them".

My little 7-year old nephew wanted to send 2 bottles of maltina to me in Canada, when he learnt that a friend was coming down here from Nigeria. But of course,...

...he was then told that he can't send liquid here.
Undeterred, I was told he asked that they send me some of his biscuits and he was told once again that it is packaged goods and he might not be able to send it over except he unwraps it and put it in a ziplock. Boy wanted...

...to do that too.

To say that I was touched is an understatement, my love for the little boy just went waaaaay up!

A couple of weeks ago, @VictoriaChiny15 offered to recharge my phone, I declined. Then she insisted that she sent me some money as a gesture of appreciation.

As simple as those gestures seem, I really appreciated them.

Now I'm not saying y'all should start sending me money or something, I'm not broke yet.

Just a word of thanks and good wishes to the next person might be all they need to pull through a challenging day/week.

We all try to help with information and your applications but we also have our own challenges.

It's a Monday guys, and it's another opportunity to do exploits

Live love, and extend love to the next person!

Question: I had a very good grade(1:1/2:1), sent my essays to many scholars and they okayed it, and I also made many applications yet they were all unsuccessful. Why?
Short answer: I don't know.

Long answer: Were your references as good as the rest of your application?
#aThread
THE QUALITY OF YOUR REFERENCE(S) IS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS THE REST OF YOUR APPLICATION PACKAGE.

Who is writing your reference letters? Is it some prof who is very busy and would just write you a lousy reference letter? Or is it some prof who never really liked you to start with?
Don't select a referee simply because they were your professor. Being your prof doesn't automatically equate to being in the best position to speak about how qualified you are for a scholarship. If they do not know you well enough, they can't speak very well about your abilities.

Question: How many scholarships should I apply for before I can stand a chance?

Short answer: As many as possible.
Long answer: #athread

SCHOLARSHIP IS A GAME OF NUMBERS.

The more applications you submit, the higher your chances of landing one or many scholarships.

1/8 Image
Here is the mantra I live by; "if you meet the minimum qualifications for a scholarship, give it a shot- your best shot!" I've had people ask me, this person graduated with a minimum 2:1, he had 3.5/5 CGPA, how did he win a scholarship? He applied, and his story resonated with..
the scholarship/admission panel. You do not know which scholarship panel your story will resonate with and that is the reason why you have to keep submitting those applications.
Over the course of 4 years, I made 30 applications and I failed in 26 of them (story for another day).

Oro rirun!!!

I know a thousand and one first class graduates who are already a millionaire after collecting just their first scholarship allowance. I also know many who hold top corporate positions, earning 7 digits and they also graduated top of their class with a FIRST CLASS!
I also know many who graduated with a first class and are very successful entrepreneurs taking charge of their businesses and raking in millions annually.
So if your yardstick of an "average life" is those who are not millionaire then you tweet is utter garbage.
By the way, what exactly is "street OT"? Go to Ìkòròdú and many other streets of Lagos, there are many boys with this your "street OT" mentality and they are there waiting for the first class guys they'll hail and praise just so they can lobby for tips.

I graduated with a second class lower/third class from a university, or I have HND from a Polytechnic and I am interested in taking up a Master's degree in Canada. What can I do?
This is your #thread.

You have a 2:1/1:1, no problem but remember to RT this for others to see.
1/n
First, Canadian institutions do not use the terminology "second class lower", "third class" and so on. The equivalent you'll find here is in percentage. I have attached an image from @umanitoba (one of the schools with the lowest percentage cut off) explaining this breakdown.
2/n
Canadian Institutions do not accept HND or Third Class for masters directly, but you can apply for a PGD, or a Certification Program. You can also do a credit transfer as an HND holder or 3rd Class Bsc. Although your visa chances are slimmer if you want to transfer into a...

SCHOLARSHIP MASTERCLASS AND WEBINAR SCAMS!!! Part 2.

To you Scholarship enthusiast,
1. Don't be a "sheeple", and don't let these wolves prey on your desire for better opportunities and a chance at a better life.
2. Opportunities don't come on a platter of gold, you work for them
3. You see that website called google, it knows everything but you just have to search for it. One thing you will have to learn is how to search using keywords. If you are not ready to search, you should be ready to pay then I guess because free resources are available already.
4. Also, there are many persons out there doing this for free and who would be willing to help you. Always do your homework, and when you get stuck, reach out to these ones and I can assure you that you'll get the desired help. Don't go asking questions you can find on google,
