Thanks to residents asking about schools and what happened earlier on this week. I’ve double checked with our Director of Public Health & the first we heard of this new variant on Tuesday this week.
There is no doubt that today’s announcement is a devastating blow for those desperately wanting to see our loved ones. However, as @NicolaSturgeon has just said that this strain is up to 70% more transmissible & therefore urgent action is clearly required.
There are many questions & I’ll do my best to get answers to as many as possible tonight, but for now it’s vital we all do what we can to stay safe & protect each other across #greenwich - more soon.
