1) PM @narendramodi would be remembered by the future generations as the head of a government which built the largest railway infrastructure in India, since the British left in 1947!

Read further for highlights of the super impressive #DedicatedFreightCorridor in below tweets.
2) Dedicated Freight Corridor or #DFC is a total of 2843 km in length in two branches.

1839 km Eastern DFC From Sohnewal in Punjab till Dankuni in West Bengal.

1500 km Western DFC from Dadri in Uttar Pradesh to JNPT in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
3) 70% of the freight trains currently running on the Indian Railway network, will shift to the dedicated freight corridors, creating enormous scope for new passenger trains!!

#DFC
4) See Kanpur Dilli line.

Currently handles trains at 150% of its line capacity. 50+ passenger & 60+ goods trains travel here.

#DFC will decongest this big time. Imagine the scope for 30+ new passenger trains when the goods trains move away from the main tracks and stations!
5) #DFC is like building an entire railway network from scratch, independent of Indian Railways. All installations are new, including stations. That is why the names of most stations are prefixed with "New" - New Bhaupur, New Khurja.. Tracks are also built to carry heavier loads.
6) In #DFC first section, 68 existing level crossings eliminated to augment speed. This is the only major section on Indian Railways that is free from any permanent or temp speed restrictions. So goods can travel from today's 25 kmph speed to 60+ kmph speed improving the economy.
7) In 2 years, some trains will run at 100+ kmph. The biggest beneficiaries of #DFC would be the farmers of India, especially the big agriculture states of North India who can now send produce quickly to coastal area markets and ships.

A gem of an column today in #ET by Praveen Singh Pardeshi.

Some interesting numbers in below tweets on how the new #FarmLaws2020 should help the poor farmers of India big time.

...
1) 80% of India's farms are < 2 hectares. They can become richer by forming Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs).

In Maharashtra 10,000 grape, vegetable & tomato farmers work with Sahyadri Agro Farms, which directly markets their produce to Tesco in Europe. Setup cold storage too.
2) 6900 mandis of India havs monopoly to buy goods from 14,50,00,000 farmer families, and sell to 130,00,00,000 consumers!

In Karnataka, a unified agri market has already led to 5.1% increase in agri goods price, with profit margins of small farmers increasing by 39 to 159%!

Some observations on the #GHMCElections 2020:

1) Postal ballots heavily in favour of BJP. Almost 65% of seats had BJP leading during Postal ballot counting. Government workers are turning against the ruling party TRS. This is significant.
...
#GHMC:
2) Cong has less wins/leads than the number of fingers on its hand symbol! Remember Congress ruled undivided AP from Hyderabad for decades.

3) No more screaming of "EVM fraud". BJP increasing its tally by almost 11 fold, even on paper ballots (EVM not used due to COVID)!
#GHMCResults2020:
4) TRS won Telangana in 2014 as a reward for new state. TRS gobbled up TDP & Congress and decimated opposition. So 2018 was a big win.

Now BJP is an alternative to TRS. 2019, 2020 Dubakka & now 2020 GHMC showing results. Clearly, honeymoon period over for TRS.

1) In US, all you need is about a dozen big states to become the President. Even there, all you need is coming number 1 (usually 50% votes, but rarely less also will do when more than 2 contestants are there).

That means, you need to win half of these 11 states. Read on...
2) You don't need a single vote in the other 39 states (& DC)! Because winner takes it all in 48 states. So technically you can become the President with just 50% (or close) votes of 22% of states!

Texas 38

NY 29
IL 20
PA 20
Ohio 18
GA 16
MI 16

NJ 14
..
3) If Electoral College system is applied to India, all you needed was to win half (or come 1st) in these 6 big states. Don't need a single LS seat from other 22 states & 8 UTs! So can become PM by winning 50% (or less) of 16% of States/UTs.

1) Check the five areas which PM @narendramodi highlighted in his #ET interview, as indicators of an Economic revival. His interview is full of facts, figures and optimism. Loved it!

More from his almost three page interview with ET in the following tweets.
2) PM Narendra Modi says: In spite of COVID19 pandemic, India received $35.73 billion FDI between April and August of 2020.

That is 13% higher than the same period in 2019.
#Investment
#Economy
3) Modi also said that between 1947 and 2020 (March), India got only 16,000 ventilators in working condition to hospitals.

Now another 50,000 being added in just a matter of months!

India truly changing in an #AtmaNirbhar way during a global pandemic.

I keep criticizing Communist government in China frequently. But here is a thread on the positive side that Communists have created for China.. well the Capitalistic side of those pretending to be Communists on the economy side.

You will be amazed at how fast China has changed.
1) Cashless society: China uses so less cash today, that pickpockets are unemployed! WeChat Pay & Ali Pay are huge.

WeChat is China's largest messaging service today. Owned by Tencent.

Taobao is the world's largest eCommerce site.

42% of the world's eCommerce happens in China!
2) China has over 1000 no cashier or no employee stores now. Businesses adapted to "contactless" sales, much ahead of Corona Virus era.

See this store in Beijing where you can shop & pay in cashless mode, with NO employee. And it is faster and safer!

Persians might have converted to Islam, but many Iranians have kept a lot of their pre-Islamic #Zoroastrian culture and traditions alive.

I read one such refreshing story today on Quora.

Sharing some details here in the thread below.
1) Iranians were mostly of Zoroastrianism religion before the conquest of Islam. Yes, they are mostly Shia Muslims today, but they know about Zoroastrian Ahura Mazda sacred book, and Rasti - Good Thoughts, Good Words, Good Deeds.
Some might be even wearing The #Faravahar pendant. Image
2) Iranians even today celebrate their traditional #Zoroastrian new Year Novruz at Pasargad (Tomb of Cyrus The Great). Keep in mind in 2020, #Novruz was just 5 days before the Hindu Near Year festival of Yugadi! Similar calendars.

Even Persian Tajik women celebrate similarly. ImageImageImage
