From 19 Dec 2020 to 7 Jan 2021, the nuclear material control human defense force training (Phase 1) organized by the Comprehensive Office of the Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences was carried out+successfully completed in Wuwei Park.
In accordance with the requirements of national laws and regulations and the approval of the "Special Chapter on the Design of the Physical Protection System of the 2MWt Liquid Fuel Thorium-based Molten Salt Experimental Reactor",
the civil and technical defense facilities of the nuclear material control physical protection system need to be established. The training of civil defense forces for nuclear material control is one of the key links in physical protection and civil defense measures in the system.
The civil air defense force is responsible for maintaining public order in the park, monitoring and patrolling key areas in the park, preventing nuclear material emergencies, and providing support for emergency operations.
The main participants in this training are all security guards in the Wuwei Park. The training content includes: the basic situation of the unit, the promotion of nuclear security laws and regulations, the introduction of the
Wuwei Park nuclear material physical protection system project, the basic knowledge of the civil defense force post, Job operation skills + general security knowledge training, as well as nuclear security emergency response knowledge training and actual combat individual drills.
Through training and assessment, the trainees were familiar with job responsibilities and related equipment operations, laying an important foundation for ensuring the safety of nuclear materials for the 2MWt liquid fuel thorium-based molten salt experimental reactor
and the safe operation of facilities.
