Our firm won the 2020 High-quality Development Major Project Contribution Award of Wuwei City
(2021/01/12)
On January 5, 2021, the 14th plenary meeting of the Fourth Wuwei Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and
the Municipal Party Committee Economic Work Conference was held to commend and reward advanced units and advanced individuals in the construction of major projects to promote high-quality development in the city in 2020.
Our institute is 2MWt The liquid fuel thorium-based molten salt reactor project won the "High Quality Development Contribution Award" of Wuwei City.
Since the 2MWt liquid fuel thorium-based molten salt experimental reactor site officially landed in Hongshagang Town,
Minqin County, Wuwei, Gansu Province in 2018, with the strong support of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Gansu Province and Wuwei City, our institute has rapidly promoted the construction of the Wuwei Park . In 2020, to overcome the impact of the epidemic,
complete the main plant and radioactive waste center structure construction and wall masonry, and deliver the process equipment installation in different regions as planned; complete the physical protection system equipment installation,
and the system is undergoing system debugging; comprehensive experimental hall, canteen , Network systems, roads and fences have been completed and put into use; reagent warehouses, water purification stations, guards, heat exchange stations, fire pump rooms, etc.
are stepping up construction, and the park has begun to take shape. The on-site installation of the safety vessel was launched in September, and the offline installation of the reactor body was launched in December.
The construction of the project has achieved important milestone progress. (Contributed by Wuwei Branch)

Description of the work: The thorium-based nuclear energy system of the Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics
made its debut at the Beijing Nuclear Industry Exhibition. It was also the first time the project was unveiled in an external exhibition, + it was highly concerned by domestic and foreign researchers. The picture shows the solid thorium-based molten salt reactor model exhibited.
From 19 Dec 2020 to 7 Jan 2021, the nuclear material control human defense force training (Phase 1) organized by the Comprehensive Office of the Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences was carried out+successfully completed in Wuwei Park.
In accordance with the requirements of national laws and regulations and the approval of the "Special Chapter on the Design of the Physical Protection System of the 2MWt Liquid Fuel Thorium-based Molten Salt Experimental Reactor",
"Shanghai Inst. of Sci. and Tech. undertakes the strategic leading technology project of the Chinese Acad. of Sciences, "Future Advanced Nuclear Fission Energy-Thorium-based Molten Salt Reactor Nuclear Energy System (TMSR)", to research & develop related nuclear energy science &
