I'm not exactly a video game buyer, but $200 million budget immersive photo realistic graphics have zero appeal to me. Give me something flat, stupid and visually abstract like Tetris
My basic rule for video games: if there are more than 2 dimensions or characters or things with faces, I'm out
In Grandpa Dave's day video games were something you only played when the band was on break, and there were beer stains and cigarette burns all over them
All you punk video game nerds get off my lawn
*Mr. @ARTofCOOP's birthday party at the Thumperdome in Pasadena, a quite impressive private collection of vintage pinball machines
Hayburners II or GTFO
Fun fact: almost all pinball machines (Bally, Williams, Gottlieb) were made in Chicago, but pinball machines were illegal in Chicago until 1976.
*the reason I've heard for that is that the Chicago mob controlled the jukebox and cig vending machine trade, and didn't want the competition (and persuaded a majority of alderman to enact a ban)
**incidentally, the two major jukebox makers, Wurlitzer and Seeberg, were also located in or near Chicago, and the annual Chicago Coin-Op Show is a must see. The Faberge Egg of this stuff is the 1950-ish Chicago Coin Band-Box, a jukebox with a tiny band that plays along.
Even cooler: the Bob Wills & His Texas Playboys version of the Band-Box, made of pure unobtanium
correction, these weren't jukeboxes, but an auxiliary speaker that would work with a jukebox. Even had an opening & closing stage curtain for extra drama. Last time I checked they go for $8k-$10k, the Bob Wills one probably 2x that.

After four years of an absurd insane clown show in Washington, it will be refreshing to return to a regular insane clown show
I prefer my insane clown shows to have gravitas
Personally I find Joe Biden's unequaled track record of doing nothing to be his most endearing attribute

The only show with the courage to rip the lid off Austin's #1 problem: volcanic eruptions
It's an utterly absurd show written by people who have never been east of the 5, and I kinda enjoy it
Austin: come for the vast sandy desert and Bro Country line dancing clubs, stay for the volcanic eruptions and exploding fertilizer plants

1932 Ford 5 window coupe, and the first time I've seen a car in Cuba that might marginally be worth the money to bring to the US.

Also, another gentle reminder to please use #DavesCarIDService hashtag
Doesn't matter, the value in the car is the body and frame. I'd take it apart, sandblast it, and redeem it as a proper Yanqui capitalist hot rod
There are a number of companies (e.g. Brookville) that make very nice, very faithful all-steel replica 1932 Ford bodies and frames, but they're still replicas. There's a premium people pay for "Henry Ford steel," as they say.

Is it just me, or was there some kind of top secret $1000 per head dinner confab at the French Laundry when a bunch of drunk TED Talkers suddenly decided all us lumpenproles need to be eating bugs out of troughs?
No one:
Absolutely no one:
Really, and I'm not kidding, absolutely no one:

Bien pensants:
Ever notice that people who claim to love humanity think of it as their own personal livestock herd
