This thread is based on older posts from June 2020, but they are still useful in understanding the mindset of the hatriot groups in Canada I and others have covered for years.
Before that though, I have two older video clips from June 3, 2017 to provide some context. 1/20
2/20
The Worldwide Coalition Against Islam (WCAI) was mainly an Internet group, though the two leaders, founder and president Joey DeLuca and VP Jesse Wielenga and a handful of other members participated in and organize real world events. 3/20
WCAI was an especially obnoxious in that not only was the group virulently racist, but Joey especially took pleasure in trying to offend people. 4/20
Oh, how racist and obnoxious you ask?
Well.... 5/20
WCAI has been inactive for close to two years. DeLuca claims to walked away while still actively supporting groups like the Urban Infidels. Wielenga dropped out a while back and appears to have some legal issues in the meantime. 6/20
I haven't paid much attention to either for a while but a couple of days ago I serendipitously came across Wielenga's latest FB profile. DeLuca, true to form, had posted the following providing another in a long list of examples of his arrested development. 7/20
DeLuca seems to think of himself as some sort of master troll when he really is a rather clownish figure, however many of the usual suspects obliged his request (though two figured wearing "their colours" was enough to "own the libtards". 🤷♂️ 8/20
FYI, this is the guy taking the mirror selfie in the WCAI t-shirt (be sure to click on the other links in the article) 9/
"More Extremists Associated With Yellow Vests Convoy to Ottawa: Christopher Hayes" 9/20
However the fun stopped not long after Urban Infidel founder and former Soldier of Odin member Steven Lane offered his contribution. 10/20
Simply put these hatriots, whose egos outmatch their accomplishments and talents, turn on each other for any perceived slight or threat to the fragile persona they have created for themselves. 11/20
This brings Ricky Rush into the conversation. He and Lane have a history in that Ricky was a member of the Urban Infidels prior to leaving to form the Woke Onez Rebellion.
As Ricki deleted the profile he used to respond the discussion is one sided, but the tenor is clear. 12/20
Ricky's partner Chantelle also jumps into the mix (also using a now deleted profile) resulting in this stream of misogyny from Lane. 14/20
Now members of the Soldiers of Odin, Terry Lefranc (posts seemingly deleted) and his then partner Sheila Cherpin offer their $0.02. 15/20
Finally Ferris, the former Canadian Combat Coalition (C3) member who started all of this chimes in once again resulting in C3 president Dan Dubois attacking him.
I'm half surprised Ryan Dean doesn't enter the conversation at this time too. 16/20
Though the fighting continued, some of the members began to reminiscence about the "good old times". 17/20
At this point the longing for days past begins when they perceived themselves as strong. 18/20
The event that is referred to was big for it's kind and included members of the WCAI, C3, Soldiers of Odin, Street Church, people linked to what would become ID Canada, and others with the III% militia providing "security". 19/20
The event was also a significant news story. However they were never able to organize anything like this again as the egos ultimately could not work together.
It is interesting how close they come to a revelatory moment before retreating back to the comfort of ignorance. 20/20

While @erinotoole has stated that it was the result of a series of controversies, the straw that broke the camel's back was accepting a donation from neo-Nazi Paul Fromm (@FrommPaul). 2/24
Now Paulie's influence in far-right extremism has waned significantly (a reason why he has tried to attach himself to more contemporary movements; Proud Boys, Yellow Vests, anti-lockdown, etc), which probably means being in the news is a bit of a thrill. 3/24
Donald Trump is out, Joe Biden is in, and QAnon adherents, are in disarray. Others, like @_MAArgentino, have already done a much better job than I will of unpacking everything, but here is my take on the response of Canadian QAnon. 1/16
We are... what? Less than 48 hours from the presidential inauguration?
American Trump supporters are still convinced that he still has a master plan to remain president and punish his enemies. The true believers among his Canadian supporters feel the same way. 1/15
In short, QAnon conspiracy woo.
Now I've spent a great deal of time the last two weeks posting information about QAnon's Canadian Trump supporting adherents. I figure that we might focus a bit on a case study in radicalization. 2/15
When I was publishing articles on ARCI wrote about Ryan Mclean in relation to his membership in the anti-Muslim/anti-immigration Canadian Combat Coalition. I also may have noted that his face looks like it is putting his body to sleep because I can be, and often am, a jerk. 3/15
Despite his supporters that still exist in Canada, the Trump brand has become especially toxic in this country since he helped to foment an attack by supporters on the US Capitol on January 6. 1/25 #canpoli#CPCldr#CPC#TakeCanadaBack#cdnmedia
Conservative Party leader @erinotoole not surprisingly is trying to distance himself, though statements like "Take Canada Back" used during his leadership campaign echo the shallow populism of Trumpism. 2/25
The question arises then how much has Trumpism infected Canadian conservative politics? I know most of my conservative-voting extended family despise Trump and everything he stands for, but there are those for whom Trump is not just a hero, but a messianic figure. 3/25
So today is January 17, one of the days right-wing extremists had planned to go to all 50 state legislatures and the Capitol armed in support of Trump. Thus far I'm not seeing much of this but the day is early.
In Canada, the lead up to inauguration has been interesting. 1/14
First, Canadian Trump supporters continue to live under the delusion that Trump is the president of Canada as well. 2/14
They are also wondering why, if Biden really won, there is a need for 20,000+ troops in Washington.
I mean, that MIGHT be because the outgoing president attempted to foment a violent coup to remain in power, but I'm only guessing. 3/14
Hello dear readers, and welcome to yet another episode of "Hatriots Can't Stand Each Other".
Kyle Sizler, a QAnon supporter and member of no less than four leather vest hatriot group has claimed to be a "member of anonymous" for years. 1/10
The problem being
(1)"anonymous" isn't a club, (2) he isn't a hacker, and oh yeah (3) he isn't actually anonymous as we all know what he looks like! 2/10
Buying several cheaply made Guy Fawkes masks makes him as much a "member of anonymous" as I was the Lone Ranger because I had a plastic gun, plastic mask, plastic badge, and plastic straw hat when I was 5.
