The model looks in much better finish than the last time. Though I see some changes. There is a Boundary layer spillway seen over the wing. And a modified fuselage side walls for canard mountings. @Indrani1_Roy
Of course changes were to be expected from the configuration from AI2019 given the design was still evolving. But is the one we see currently the final frozen Preliminary design config..?
We have the ADE UAV fleet. SWiFT, Rustom2 and Abhyas. A very crude model of SWiFT IMO. SWiFT is the Flying wing Tech Demo program, precursor to Ghatak. Its been under development for a while now. But this is the first time its being displayed as a model.
Would be interesting to see what kind of engine exhaust is designed for #SWiFT (Stealth Wing Flying Testbed) and what kind of control surfaces are there on the trailing edge. Hope @ReviewVayu could give us a clear picture of the rear side tomorrow. It is expected to fly in 2021.
I guess the debate is settled now about the kind of Radar atop the A320s..? Looks like we went midway between a smaller AEW&C and a large AWACS. Proven system from #Netra put on a larger platform of A320 giving it solid on-station time and range.
TASL acquires full IPR of Grob G180 SP. Likely to be offered as an ELINT/SIGINT platform. The biz jets typically fly much higher than the Airliners. That capability could be the key here. Need to track this development.
Details of the inauguration of the "second line" for the LCA is out. The RM will inaugurate the facility. Plan is to have a 34000sqm facility consolidating all related facilities at one place. This must be the line which was approved by GOI sometime back with some 1300Cr funds.
And finally, the most awaited display of this AeroIndia - #TEDBF. Its gonna polarise the opinions for sure 😀. I see significant level of RCS shaping. Its practically a stealthy platform in clean config.
And update on @HALHQBLR and NewSpace Research JV loyal wingman program.
Seems like IAF is not in the picture yet. But great to see HAL and Pvt industry coming up with cutting edge solutions with own investments. The MoD and the Services need to now
proactively talk to these companies, help them define the mission requirements and the SQRs so they can start working on something that is realistic and desirable by the Services. Ideally they should have been driving these peograms but, nonetheless, hope they will take lead now.
Hope to get a good look at the second facility from the inauguration function. Hooe @HALHQBLR releases some pictures of the facility and not just of RM and other people.
Some new exciting developments from NewSpace RT. There is immense potential in the Pvt industry. Need to unleash is, especially in the field of UAVs. The agile startup culture is best suited for leapfrogging & wide spectrum product dev in UAVs. @joe_sameer
And we have the dimensions of TEDBF finally. Note that the #TEDBF is still at a concept stage so expect changes in the numbers to some extent.
Its shorter than MiG29K but longer than RafaleM in length. In wingspan, similar to MiG29K, folded and unfolded
Pic credit - @ReviewVayu
Though its unfolded wingspan is much shorter than the unfolded wingspan of Rafale.
The poster mentions Escort Jamming role for #TEDBF. Are we planning for a Growler-esque version..? That would be quite logical step obviously. @Firezstarter1@Indrani1_Roy
Given the airframe size, i estimate the empty airframe weight should be approx 11.5T give or take a few quintals. With max 12T loaded empty weight including pilot et al, and 26T MTOW, there is room for massive 14T of fuel and weapons. Question is how much
is the internal fuel then..? I wish for 7T internal fuel (2x that of MWF). 7T external payload is quite sufficient. Eyeballing the airframe, I feel there is sufficient internal volume (which is more than I had expected) for 7T fuel.
2nd line for LCA Tejas production inaugurated by the RM. Can we have some pics of the facility from inside @HALHQBLR..?
The external weapons are likely going to have the same spectrum as the LCA MK2. Both will hv Uttam Radar varients so the whole weapons integration efforts could be reused with minor mods from MWF to AMCA cutting down dev time significantly.
5000 new jobs with 48000Cr order. Thats a benefit for our Nation, over and above the absolutely invaluable defense capability addition to the IAF. And the ROI doesn't stop here.
Another good news for #AtmaNirbharBharat. In the interviews that @writetake had published, it was mentioned that RFI queries are being addressed. Good to see moving to RFQ for #HTT40. Hopefully, it wont take as long for final contract as for LCA MK1A.
Some details on the second line that was inaugurated for #Tejas today. Empty buildings for now. But looks a large set of activities are planned to be consolidated under single facility under the LCA Div.
I am also eagerly waiting for this. Hope to see a detailed article on @delhidefence on current activities on Kaveri and future plans for the 110kN engine.
When Airshows world over are getting cancelled, Aero India is going ahead with a shorter version focused on business side. I have no doubt, it is going to be a success with all the precautions and measures in place.
Though its not ideal this time for
non-biz visitors like me, I am looking forward to the virtual platform. It looks cool and I hope it will be continued for all the future events too. No Aero India Technical Seminars, which is a bummer though.
Anyway, let the show begin.
#SarasMK2 Brochure. Its looks like its embellished with all the bells and whistles. Its better than Do228 in practically every sense.
Interestingly, Lockheed's AI bot lost the competition in the Finals where they had pitted F16 against F16 against a AI bot called Heron (must be from a small company, as the Final was being called David vs Goliath match).
whether AI or Human to shake it off very difficult.
Yes, this is bit simplistic settings and the Human pilot is a bit disadvantaged having to virtually fly the Fighter, but then the AI bots are also relatively primitive.
Great insights generated from the whole program which
While Indian Army's official statement has already confirmed 3 KIA including the CO of the Battalion manning the LAC at #GalwanValley, there are unconfirmed reports coming that the PLA has suffered 4 or 5 casualties. We will have to wait for an official statement from CCP.
Col @sdinny14 who has actually commanded the area spanning #PangongTso to #GalwanValley, has given a lucid and Crystal clear explanation of the terrain and the situation in the area of so-called "conflict" and single-handedly demolished the whole narrative of "India under massive
Incursion" or "India under attack" from China. Thank you @sdinny14 for clearing the air on the matter.
Kudos to @nitingokhale for bringing out this interview. You hv once again proved that you remain the most reliable and accurate Journalist on India's Def and Strategic matters.
Let me just quickly summarize the key points by @sdinny14 -
- Col Dinny has cleared the air on the nomenclature used for the "fingures" in the area.
- The tactical position in the area on the LAC is quite clear now. F4 has a cliff which restricts any vehicular movement. It has
1. This interview of the DG BRO from sometime back. The DG talks about the DS-Shyok-DBO road which is the centerpiece of current #GalwanValley standoff between India and China. The importance of the road is nicely summed up by the DG by mentioning that the Road would
Allow reaching DBO from Leh in mere 6hrs, cutting down from current 2-day long journey. DBO is otherwise accessible only via Air and given its high altitude and consequent payload restrictions and the semi-prepared runway means each sortie has lesser effectiveness. Hence the road
2. connectivity is very important. It is no wonder why the DS-DBO road is one of the foremost priorities of BRO along with few other projects like the Atal Tunnel allowing year-round access to Leh, the Road to Mansarover (just recently completed) and so on. And why China is not
I have a gut feeling that Indian Economy will bounce back much faster and strongly from the impact of the pandemic than what the current imdicators would lead us to believe.
The GST collection is close to 90% of the avg monthly collection in pre-COVID19 era.
It is in fact 91% of the June 2019 collection figure.
