THREAD: Palestinians aren't free to love due to Israel's discriminatory policies. Under Israel's apartheid system, Palestinians are divided into separate ID categories and given unequal rights. Palestinian spouses and families are separated,

sometimes unable to be together for years.
These policies target Palestinians no matter where they live or what their ID status is. Israel separates Palestinians living in Gaza from Palestinians living in the West Bank,

and both are separated from Palestinians who are citizens of Israel. Palestinian refugees are even more separated from their loved ones.
Israel has banned Palestinian family unification as

official policy (Citizenship & Entry Law), which Human Rights Watch calls "unlawful discrimination" against Palestinian citizens of Israel. As a result, thousands of families are threatened with separation.

Palestinian Knesset member (Israeli parliament) Yousef Jabareen says the law is "one of the most racist and harmful laws on Israel's books."

But Israel has separated Palestinian families since its founding, denying Palestinians the community and social fabric all people need to thrive. Still, Palestinians defy these policies and continue to love, even under apartheid. #ValentinesDay
