If kids under age 6 can wear masks 102 years ago in the last great pandemic, then kids today can too.

PASS IT ON. #COVID19 #MaskUp #schoolmasks
2) We now have major outbreaks in kids worldwide from #B117. See thread 🧵
3) This is the best example of what happens when kids don’t mask in schools....
4) Effect of no masks for kids under 10 in schools...
5) Denmark school outbreaks. #B117 may be especially more worrisome in kids
6) We also shouldn’t lie that kids are not at risks. I want schools to open - but we need safe schools.
7) Masks are good.... but what’s even better? Both MASKS + AIR VENTILATION/CLEANING. CDC just released new guidelines on school air quality and safety during pandemic. #COVID19

HIGHEST IN KIDS—newest French data this week shows #B117 is the most dominant & has the highest prevalence in kids ages 0-9. This matches data from 🇬🇧 (where B117 nearly completely dominant) showing highest #COVID19 incidence in kids. This also matches kids surge in 🇮🇹 & 🇮🇱. 🧵 Image
2) Here is the newest UK data from England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 showing the highest positivity of #COVID19 in kids for the first time (this wasn’t true in the past). This again matches warnings we see elsewhere in the world. Leaders of each country have to acknowledge this.
3) and my god, #B117 has now pretty much dominated half of France 🇫🇷. Image

NEW—a report written by state health officials sent to Cuomo that described >9000 nursing home residents in New York had died of #COVID19, & not yet public, was rewritten by governor’s most senior aides to take it out, according to interviews & documents. nytimes.com/2021/03/04/nyr…
2) After the state attorney general revealed earlier this year that thousands of deaths of nursing home residents had been undercounted, Mr. Cuomo finally released the complete data, saying he had withheld it out of concern.
3) “But Mr. Cuomo and his aides actually began concealing the numbers months earlier, as his aides were battling their own top health officials, and well before requests for data arrived from federal authorities

📌Adults in households with 3+ young kids: 54% ⬆️ risk of #COVID19 Image

NARROW WIN— VP Kamala Harris breaks a 50-50 tie in the Senate to proceed with the #COVID19 relief bill... 51-50. This is how narrow the fate of America’s future to stop the coronavirus pandemic comes down to.

➡️ Elections matter damnit.
2) We are here because Biden and Harris listen to scientists! Our video last fall...
3) And because the other guy dismissed science and recklessly endangered millions of lives.

UNDER-DIAGNOSIS IN KIDS—New CDC-study in Mississippi found actual number of kids infected with #COVID19 was much higher than testing reported.

How much?

📌68x in May 2020

📌12x in September

The old “almost no kids risk” studies outdated. Kids transmit.

2) “Serologic testing of residual blood specimens collected during May–September 2020, from 1,603 persons aged <18 years suggested that approximately 113,842 (16.3%) of 698,420 young persons in Mississippi might have been infected with SARS-CoV-2 by mid-September 2020.”
3) Contrast... only 8,993 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases among young persons had been reported to the Mississippi State Department of Health by August 31.

8993 reported vs 113,842 likely pediatric cases.
