4+month into #TigrayGenocide & his only public statement was that 🇪🇷was “fulfilling its responsibilities” wrt🇪🇹

🇪🇷’s military is vast, 200K+ people, most enrolled in compulsory & definite national service on reaching 11th grade. 20% of 🇪🇷's GDP is spent on the military, an undisclosed sum is used on Isaias's much-feared national security & intelligence services.

Last week, satellite imagery showed 508+ buildings burning in & around Gijet, a town in southern Tigray.

In📞calls Tigrayans reported5⃣🇪🇷divisions—~10K+soldiers w/ tanks backed by both 🇪🇹&🇪🇷Eritrean combat aircraft—converging on the area conducting a “scorched earth” operation.

Mar.1-Mulugeta Gebrehiwot, described how recently 🇪🇷troops razed villages, cut down mango orchards, destroyed irrigation systems & slaughtered dozens of people (children➡️seniors) in the town of Samre, villages of Gijet, Adeba, & Tseada Sare.
