To safely ramp up renewable energy and electricity grids globally (!), while adhering to at least global 50% CO2e reduction by 2030, we need a hiatus from our economic setup: a hiatus from debt- or profit-driven economic activity and salary-dependency.

When economic activity is curbed to ramp up RE infrastructure globally,
while also doing at least UNEP's -50%/2030 in CO2e (e !), people need a guarantee for food, clothing, and to keep their current homes. (Unless it gets washed away in climate change )

Economists, journalists, politicians and activists need to address this. Dissolving cognitive dissonances in this regard is urgent. I see no other solution than what UK did with population consent from 1939 to 1956: ration everything for everyone.

By the way, rationing everything for everyone plus home guarantee in such a system hiatus in rich states is an ad hoc 35% less CO2. It also addresses the horrible fallout of the pandemic. And it reduces non-CO2-GHG, while it improves diets globally, and makes everyone healthier
