Action Alone Is Not The Answer

There are many reasons, but one more than any other, followed by a close second. The most important reason is how little action there actually is.
2) Action has 5 stages:

1) Consideration
2) Decision
3) Commencement
4) Execution
5) Completion

You might be surprised to learn that actually getting started is the hardest part. Pushing execution through to completion follows next. Let's redo the list that way...
3) Here's our 5-part Action Stages list, ordered from most difficult to easiest:

1) Commencement
2) Completion
3) Execution
4) Decision
5) Consideration

This too is complex, however, and deceptive as well. Wheels within wheels, this is not simple stuff.
4) Here's why it's so difficult to get right. The way you get started, let alone simply just getting started at all, matters, and matters hugely. When you're considering a decision, before you make it, you need to see it in your mind's eye all the way to completion.
5) You need to consider the difficulty of getting started and see yourself overcoming that difficulty. Whatever the challenges of execution might be, those too must be part of your deliberation, your consideration before you decide.
6) If you solely focus on the most difficult thing, getting started, that will gain you a huge advantage in execution and completion. Do you see what I mean about how all 5 parts weave into and out of each other?
7) So, you can see that action alone is NOT the answer simply for the fact that so little of it occurs. Each of the 5 stages of action offer their own resistance or difficulty, and for all the talk about action, most action falters somewhere along the way.
8) The second reason can be summed up as poor to inadequate preparation. Preparation for what, exactly? This breaks down into just 2 parts:

1) Internal
2) External

We can reduce internal preparations down as well:

1) Knowledge
2) Skill - Knowhow
3) Will - Grit
9) With good intentions, we often commit and get started to things we just don't know how to do. Learning along the way is fantastic if your grit is tough enough to stay the course. If not, failure. This usually just looks like giving up, often simply disappearing.
10) Let's turn to political endeavor for a moment. I can't begin to tell you the number of candidates I've met who had no clue how to win. They never confess this. They walk up to the day of election professing complete victory. They always do.
11) Having spoken to many candidates, I've only volunteered to help a campaign directly, twice. The first time was a total wipeout. The 2nd went quite well. In every other case, no candidate I've yet met persuaded me he had the knowledge, skill & will for victory.
12) External preparation is what is required to face the real world, outside yourself. What is the competitive field like? For serious Republican candidates, this is never just the Democrat they face. It entails the media, and an organized and intelligent opposition force.
13) And consider funding. The Democrat dollar advantage is beyond vast. There is a good reason for this we must consider. The majority of political dollars given have some form of ROI. Obviously, there's corruption. But beyond that, Democrats gain advantage from government.
14) We seek freedom from government and to reduce what we pay. Democrats have no problem paying the government since the advantage in return is precisely how they want the system to work. Organizing for and paying for victory comes naturally to them. Not so with us.
15) There are politics - who gets elected, who proposes or fights for this law or that, etc. - and then there are politics inside any entity. Think office politics at work. There is no such thing as a politics-free environment. Between 3 people, 2 join against 1. That's politics.
16) Your internal knowledge, skill & will, as dedicated to any mission HAS to be hardened against these politics or the mission will fail. Each of us as individuals has to be prepared for political opposition from our fellows. Our fellows are external to ourselves.
17) Have you noticed that political couples really are a thing? Such couples have overcome the barriers separating them from each other and are a bulwark against a vicious outside world. Consider Donald and Melania. Look at the world's opposition against them.
18) And look at their fellow Republicans, from Never-Trumpers to RINOs, to even Mike Pence on January 6, 2021. Where has the worst external opposition come from? From Republicans, far worse than from Democrats in my opinion.
19) What America needs if we're going to do our job is for us to complete our preparations, both internal and external. We must face the truth of our situation, and the huge opposition in front of us. Here's a quick example of the bad news.
20) To my eye, Scalia was assassinated. To me, it fails to pass the smell test that there was no autopsy. To my eye, Roberts has been corrupt from day 1. Yet with Bush 43's full blessing, he holds greatest power over the judicial branch of the government.
21) What ever happened to the FISA abuses during the Obama administration and the Mueller investigation? Roberts held the reins over that, and the answer is positively nothing occurred. Injustice reigns. The SCOTUS has been long gone to true justice.
22) Now we stare down the long barrel of an expanded court. If the 13-justice court goes through, obviously Biden instantly has 4 seats to dole out. This, to me, is merely icing on the cake of injustice the court already executes. That's just one example of what we face.
23) I believe that we are, and by far, the great majority. Yet, for all that, we must become an insurgency. Our nation has been successfully invaded from within. It is lost to us as is. At best, our Constitution is barely still on life support. At worst, it's just gone.
24) So where's the hope? If what I've described above is correct, isn't all hope gone? Nay, nay not so. We've always known that freedom is never free. We've always known its cost was dire. The problem is that we only thought of external enemies, not internal.
25) Even during the cold war, it was Americans who gave the USSR the power of the atom bomb. How many other technologies were simply passed over to the other side by traitors from within? How much was FDR's administration influenced by his Communist cabinet members and his wife?
26) Our hope comes in the form of our clearing vision and slowly unfogging minds. It is only now that we may begin to assess the true nature of the challenge. Truth in view, we may find real hope in the process of proper preparation that leads to progress forward.
27) It should also be obvious that there are many other books that could and perhaps rightly should be on our list. I always encourage anyone who wishes to argue over this or that book to do so! And I also absolutely encourage competing lists in any way I'm able.
28) Over the past six days we walked through Master Sun Tzu's Five Fundamentals. I know I certainly needed the refresher course, myself, as I wind up to new missions locally. On that note, if you read nothing else of Sun Tzu's his first chapter should be mandatory.
29) For me, living in the deep blue county I do, it is now time to return to book #4, From Dictatorship To Democracy (FDTD). I've only read it once so far and have been dreading reading it again. It's a great book. But it will push me as nothing else on the list. Insurgency.
30) Also, it's time for me to get the hard copy, as I've only read the Kindle version 1st pass through. I'll bite that bullet today. What will you do? Please know, the coming action requires your serious preparation. Our nation's destiny depends upon it.
Thread ends at #30.

Master Sun's Five Fundamentals In Review

Here they are again. Please try to take them in and make them your own.

1) The Way
2) Heaven
3) Earth
4) Command
5) Discipline
2) I claim to be a very disciplined follower. The MAGA Movement has, to date, just one ultimate leader, President Donald Trump. Following his stolen victory in 2020, I realized that I must become a follower on down the chain from his office to that of my local county sheriff.
3) Here it is 2021, and so far in my life I've never engaged over a governor's run. Or over State Legislature elections. Or over my own county's supervisorial elections. I've never studied the candidates. I've never gotten involved.

Master Sun's Five Fundamentals: 5) Discipline

“Discipline is Organization, Chain of command, Control of expenditure.”
2) "Every commander is aware of these Five Fundamentals. He who grasps them wins; he who fails to grasp them loses."

The Way. Heaven. Earth. Command. Discipline. These are the Five Fundamentals.

3,083 Counties in America. Who masters these Five Fundamentals for each?
3) Discipline. This is my great accusation against our side. We allow the other side to be more disciplined than we are. They are more organized. They know their way, their heaven, their attack upon the earth, who their commander is, and their discipline better than we do.

Master Sun's Five Fundamentals: 4) Command

I didn't intend to introduce Alfred Huang's great masterpiece, his translation of the I Ching today. In my studies this morning, I found I have no choice. Huang is my I Ching Master.
2) For the life of me this morning, I could not find a specific term I was looking for. I have books that offer the translation of specific terms, and the one I was looking for is the one Huang translates as "superior person." Hey, wait...
3) Aha! I found the resource book I needed. This book translates each and every Chinese term in the Tao Te Ching literally. Oh how much do I love this book. This is meticulous analysis!

Master Sun's Five Fundamentals: 3) Earth

Studying Earth, we turn first to the Yin Yang.

1) The Way
2) Heaven

3) Earth

4) Command
5) Discipline
2) There are many tales regarding the discovery of the Yin Yang. As a visual symbol, such as the one above, history offers us the 1st use by Rome in an image of its many insignia from around 400 A.D. Note it appears twice in the second row.
3) We won't linger to explore Roman symbols. It is, however, a tremendous unanswered question about the origin of our symbol. What, if any, is the tie between the Roman and the Chinese usage? We don't know. But as I said, there are many tales about is origin in ancient China.

Master Sun's Five Fundamentals: 2) Heaven

In today's work, we'll find our way to the famous Yin Yang, but first we'll do some work in Genesis 1 and Exodus 20. Here are all five:

1) The Way
2) Heaven
3) Earth
4) Command
5) Discipline Image
2) In my early studies of the Five Fundamentals, I struggled with the difference between The Way and Heaven. I eventually found the term "The Heavens" to be helpful to me. Sky, space, all that which is ABOVE the Earth. The Way being what put them there.
3) Genesis 1: 1 - 3.

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

If you notice the date, you'll see this is an essay I posted 12 January 2019. It was my 2nd commentary on Sun Tzu verses, taken from the John Minford translation.

2) Before we go any further, let me urge you to purchase this particular translation, no matter how many others you may already own. And if you're just getting started, this is the best introductory version as well, and by far.

3) When re-reading my commentary on chapter 1 verse 2, this morning, it was surprising how well it stands. I hope you'll agree. Here, 2 years later, we can see the very power of the left described there, and also China's current power in the same vein.
