1) Meet the new boss, ⁦@IainTRankin⁩, same as the old boss, ⁦@StephenMcNeil⁩.

@MichaelTGorman⁩ Stephen Tobin started working in the premier's office as director of strategic initiatives. Previously, he had been employed #nspoli #nslp cbc.ca/news/canada/no…
2) by the @LiberalPartyNS
caucus office as director of strategic communications during the tenure of former premier Stephen McNeil.

(Kudos to Margaret Miller for having the courage to call her boss and her party out!)

This is not the first time, that McNeil and the party
3) have been exposed for their misogyny.

In June of 2017, @RealMaggieRahr broke the story of former party staffer Michelle Coffin, who experienced assaults followed by an attempted cover up at the highest levels of the party. #KylieHarris #LabiKousoulis thecoast.ca/halifax/michel…
4) "I don't have any claims to suggest that any of the staff that I have don't treat people with respect," Premier Iain Rankin.

So the shiny new premier with all of the #FloweryWords is rejecting these allegations from a senior, female member of his Cabinet?

#IBelieveHer #MeToo
5) @nspc MLA @karla_macf_pc called Iain Rankin's response on Thursday nonchalant and dismissive of concerns brought forward by a colleague.

"I would go as far as saying the premier is very immature and naive on this issue," she told reporters.

@StephenTobin
6) @GaryBurrill, "For Iain Rankin to suggest he's received no allegation, when he knows one was sent to his chief of staff, misses the mark.

"Rule 1 in the world of a leader's office is that when you're talking to the chief of staff, you're talking to the leader."

Is 'modified self-isolation' a key reason we now have 1,464 active cases in Nova Scotia?

Rotational workers: no longer have a modified self-isolation; they must quarantine for an entire 14 days away from other people in their households.

Here's @TwitCoast editor Kyle Shaw with more on the April 6 easing of restrictions.

NOTE: We had 6 new cases that day.

KYLE SHAW: A rising activity level feels hard to reconcile with relaxing public health restrictions, especially when we don't know if our vaccination program is going remarkably well or straight-up sucking. Image

“I am coming to you with this information in hopes that you may ask @StrangRobert if the daycares have been directed not to go public with the number of positive cases."

#PaidSickLeave #PandemicPay #ECE
The govt. could always make an exception to the age-based vaccination program, as it chose to do for police officers. (One of Strang's biggest flip-flops.)

These days, female ECEs are arguably at as much risk of contracting the virus as police officers. ottawa.ctvnews.ca/licensed-dayca…

@Tim_Bousquet has been reporting on the diabolical nature of REITs, Real Estate Investment Trusts, for some time now.

Here's a bit of a THREAD from Dec. 2019. #RentControl
CUTHBERTSON: An analysis of records compiled for @CBCNS by Nova Scotia Courts shows that between 2015 & 2019, more than 550 residential tenancy orders were filed in court against renters living in 1,200 apt. units run by Metcap, 3/4's of them currently owned by Telus.

Gyasi Symonds jaywalked on his way to The Nook and wasn’t the only one to do so, as he trailed behind 4 White women who did the same.

But it was only Symonds, a visibly Black man, that was approached by two #HRP police officers for jaywalking. #Halifax saltwire.com/atlantic-canad…
@nziafati @Nicole__Munro Constables Steve Logan & Pierre-Paul Cadieux blocked Symonds when he approached the coffee shop and questioned him about jaywalking, but didn't issue him a ticket.

Symonds was later called down to his office's lobby, where the two were waiting for him. Image

The (former) Minister also stated that it is custom for @NS_TAT to build a road through the woods to private quarries for twinning projects.

What? Really? TIR builds roads for road building companies to their private quarries, so that they can build roads? #ScotianMaterials

Listening to @FoodProfessor on w. @jordimorgan, re. flight from Cdn. cities during this pandemic.

When he references folks who can work from anywhere, he’s talking about the top branch of the ‘K’ recovery, who are doing fine.

What about the #LowWage workers on bottom branch?
