So what is really happening in #SheikhJarrah?
At the end of the 19th century the committee of the Sephardi Jews in Jerusalem and the committee of Knesset Israel (Ashkenazi Jews) bought the land in #SheikhJarrah that was completely empty at the time.
In the 1950’s the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan that controlled the land illegally, decided to build 28 houses for Arab Palestinian refugees. The price the Palestinian families needed to pay for a house was giving up on their refugee statues and their refugee cards.
The deal was signed by the refugee families, the government of Jordan and the @UN . Following the #SixDayWar the neighborhood was annexed back by Israel as part of the plan to unite the city of Jerusalem as the undivided / United capital of the State of Israel 🇮🇱
The #Israeli #Knesset made a law that allowed Jews who owned land that was taken by Jordan, to get that land back from the State of Israel. The committee for Sephardi Jews got back their ownership on the land that they purchased but that land already had dozens of families on it.
years went by, Israeli NGO’s bought the land from the committee of Sephardi Jews, and approached the court system in order to get back the houses in the land that were legally purchased by Jews. 10 years ago, some of the houses were evicted and today 4 houses are facing evictions
These 4 houses are the main reason to the tensions in #SheikhJarrah. As the residents of the houses lost their cases in 2 lower courts, the Israeli Supreme Court is now dealing with the situation and is going to announce a decision in regards to the houses.
Judge Daphne Barak-Erez offered a compromise, the Jews will be the owners of the land, and the Arab residents will be protected residents that will make it harder for them to be evicted. The sides said #NO to such a compromise and now the judge needs to decide:
Would she #reject the residents #appeal therefore they need to be evicted immediately, or she approves the appeal and then 3 Supreme Court judges will continue the legal process for the 4 houses. At the same time more houses status are also being discussed in lower courts.
Anything but what you read here, statements from politicians, articles in news agencies, posts from organizations that only show the violence and claim that #Israel is the “worse” country in the world and that Israel is BAD, are part of the big industry of lies.
The industry of lies against 🇮🇱 and the Jewish state is huge. Many make money out of it like @hrw others keep their voters happy like @RashidaTlaib and friends @CoriBush @RepMarieNewman and others think they fight for justice like @IfNotNowOrg trying to cancel the Jewish state.
no matter how many videos they will share, how many big words they will say, how many lies they will spread. The Jewish people have an #historical and legal claim to the land of Israel, and orgs, politicians, media that side up with Hamas or Islamic Jihad, will never get it right

On May 1st, 1921 the #Jaffa riots also known as "Me'oraot Tarpa" started in the land of #Israel as a result 47 #Jews were murdered and 146 were injured. ImageImageImage
Many times on #college #campuses, we tend to hear that prior to the #establishment of the State of Israel, Arabs and Jews lived "#peacefully" side by side, and the State of Israel was the reason the the hostility against the Jews. This argument is wrong, it is false.
The Jaffa riots were a series of violent riots in Mandatory Palestine on May 1–7, 1921, an attack by Arabs on Jews during which many were killed. The rioting began in Jaffa and spread to other parts of the country #Rehovot, #PetahTikva, #Hadera and elsewhere.
