Probably one of the biggest days of my professional career, Feeling grateful to everyone who crossed and helped me reach here,

I still remember the moment when I ditched a job offer from Indian Railways and a leading Public Sector Bank.

I went to my father and asked him! ⬇️🧵
Papa, Am I doing right?

He said - Yes if this makes you happy, I believe you. But do think about stability and your future.

He has been a teacher for around 25 years, have respected my opinions. In our society, not everyone has the luxury of taking independent decisions!
The high school kid was passionately curious about two ‘S’ - #StockMarket and #Startups.

Decided to go via the Engg+Management route like many others.

Travelled alone, made and learnt from mistakes, part-time gigs, celebrated every small and big milestone and what not?
Grown admiring founders and leaders more than anything else.

So It was a clear ‘No’ to myself about joining any typical government entity for 9-5.

Reason? I craved ownership and authority, to make a larger impact by joining great people on a great mission.
Money was an obvious outcome but not a crucial motivation.

I can’t and didn’t want to see myself working till the ideal retirement age i.e. - 50-60 etc.

So it’s far better to take a bet on yourself, work incredibly smart, build relationships, perform and join a rocketship. 🚀
Don’t believe me, look around, there are many great startups and unicorns.

The kind of value and wealth they’ve created for their people. Yes, don’t underestimate the spirit of entrepreneurship and ESOPs.
Today, we’re making a large impact and helping millions of aspirants with end to end learning solutions, I feel gratified to interact with my partners, good to work with amazing colleagues

Learned from amazing leaders who trusted this young artist, pushed me to go the extra mile
Really thankful for everything that happened in life; it’s all an experience. Ending this thread with my all-time favourite quote by Thomas A Edison -

"Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time." 🙏❤️

I’m thinking about millions of dormant bank accounts and billions of idle cash of people who died,

In many cases, families don’t even know that there might be wealth, how many banks send out the communication to find legal heirs?

Bank(s) enjoying money or what?
What I as a citizen need/want is a common portal where I can see the list of my active and closed bank account against my PAN and Aadhar,

Similarly how CIBIL reports loan and credit card data.

I don’t see any difficulty in implantation when bank works under CBS/Finacle.
Found this 12 year old circular on RBI website, my concern is what does bank(s) do with such money?

Who exactly gets unclaimed funds? This needs to be answered

Please RT for visibility and tag if you know any banker or finance professional who can help!

Indian Weddings (esp Arranged Marriage) is a fucking agreement in small towns,

I know a family ready to gift ₹15-20L cash in dowry so asked them why they are doing this? The girl is an engineer itself

They said because the guy is a government teacher and that’s how it works!😣
Forget advice, they don’t give a shit about anything. You’re giving them your daughter, what kind of greediness is this?

How to stop someone who’s doing all this willingly?
I know many father(s) who took large amount in loans against their property/shops, ended up their lifetime savings, PPF, FD etc just to finance the marriage of their daughters,

We’re living in 2021, are we at a loss of self-respect and dignity?

My heart goes out to Founders/Entrepreneurs who built the team(s) from the scratch,

It's fucking hard, building an offline team and getting a lifetime experience of learnings.

(A Thread) ⬇️
It's an offline heavy project based out of a Tier-II City.

The team will be responsible for increasing brand outreach and User Acquisitions on No-Sales Model.

Hiring is one of the biggest difficulties, Finding the right candidates with the correct skillsets isn’t easy.
Here I feel pedigree plays an important role,

Traditional Folks (BA/B.Sc/B.Com) doesn’t have any/very little knowledge of basic industry skills e.g. -

E-Mail
Communication
Office Suits

A couple of them didn’t show up for an interview, they all start facing a medical problems.

Do you want to know what can be done with just one Aadhaar OTP?

- Can open a Bank Account
- Can get a new SIM Card
- Can sign Digital Mandates (e-NACH)

Doesn't matter if you are doing it or fraud is doing it on your behalf. All it takes OTP.

#KYC #Aadhaar Thread ⬇️
Refer to this Article, There are thousands of bank account opened by Airtel without a person's consent, they're sold to other users for just ₹50/100

The process is very simple, the agent who is issuing a SIM card can open the account by using a thumb.

ecoti.in/w2vhAb
There is no single portal where people can go & see all their active SIM Cards, e-NACH/AutoPay mandates, Bank Accounts and cancel them if they want.

This is the biggest product failure. RT and let @UIDAI @NPCI_NPCI @dilipasbe @PMOIndia do something to prevent our KYC and data.

WTF is wrong with @BYJUS?

I got a call from one of my Relative, The Sales guy pitched her wife to get the kid enrolled for some 'Home Learning Plan'

She said the boy is getting a ₹30k scholarship so they need to pay only ₹5000 in Bank and ₹25k in EMIs.

#EdTech Thread ⬇️
He said this scholarship is only valid till tomorrow and you need to pay the fee by today. The Tablet will be delivered within 7 days and if you aren't happy you can return it within 15 days.

So here the game begins - They asked for

Aadhar Card
PAN Card
Bank Passbook Copy
They want PAN Card for Loan/CIBIL related inquiries, Bank Details for EMI Deductions, and Aadhar Card for signing the eNACH.

Finally, ask the customer for Aadhar OTP and sign the auto-debit on the customer's behalf. Parents wouldn’t even realize how their PAN/Aadhar got used.

My father was about to lose his cool the moment he learned that I've 19 odd Credit Cards. 😛

PS - I don't have any EMIs or Debt, all cards are having almost NIL outstanding.

It's just all CC serves different purposes and helped me save more than 100k in savings and rewards.
Well, I'm not alone in this game. There are few other folks who're holding more than 15-20 different CCs.

Our legend @flywithsid is one of them, you can check out his Tweets world famous blog (cardexpert.in)
