Understanding #Gaza and #IsraelUnderAttack

1. Gaza strip is narrow sliver of land on the South Eastern shore of the Mediterranean Ocean. It has a 11 km border with Egypt on its South, a 50 km border with Israel on its North and East and of course the ocean on its West

1/n
2. It produces nothing and gets its electricity and water from Israel. Food comes partly from Israel and partly from Egypt. The border with Egypt has only once crossing at Rafa. The rest is guarded and patrolled by Egypt. Infact Egypt is building a wall. Yes a wall like the

2/n
one Trump was building with Mexico. Why ? Because Egypt does not want these vicious crazed Jihadis to come in. In fact no Arab country does. Thats why none of the other Arab countries close by- Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Saudi, Lebanon have taken in Palestinians since 1947

3/n
That tells you something

3. So Iran fishes in troubled waters and tries to incite Jihad via its proxies. Israel has done its best for peace and has given up many of its claims but Iran incites Palestinians to intifada to show Arabs, Sunnis that Iran is more Muslim than them

4/n
4. So the quetsion is how does Iran get weapons to #Hamas ? The only land route is via the 11 km border with Egypt. And thats guarded. Palestians keep building tunnels and Egypt keeps destroying them. Smuggling heavy weapons like MLRS via tunnels is impossible, though

5/n
rockets for MLRS can be smuggled in with difficulty. So that could be a route

The only other route is via the sea. Its unlikely that Israel allows anything to slip by as the sea frontage is so narrow and easily patrolled. But maybe some gets through

Gaza is known to have

6/n
workshops to produce rockets with Iranian designs. They also produce mortars. But where do they get the steel, fuel and raw materials to build such a large arsenal ?

5. And their arsenal is big. They have fired 1200 plus rockets. For comparison a Pinka Regt fires 216 🚀

7/n
as its first load and carries 2/3 reloads before needing re supply. So this is a heavy volume of fire designed to overwhelm Israeli defences like Iron Dome

Plus mortar fire is being used on Israeli villages nearby

6. It is very likely that Hamas is getting advice from 🇮🇷

8/n
on operational and tactical matters via the Internet. That is why Israel has taken out their INT echelon and their Internet and mobile communications.

Israel should also cut off electricity to Gaza

7. Hamas are using human shields by occupying buildings where civilians

9/10
"civilians" live. Hamas must be held to account for the inevitable "civilian casualties" as Israel targets the weapons locations, INT networks, command and control of Hamas. Its vital to take these out and Israel is doing so with success.

8. A ground op is necessary

10/n
to locate and destroy all weapons producing facilities, residual leadership, tunnels

Israel will be well within its rights to reduce the size of Gaza and occupy key areas of it. Its clear that Palestinians are not wired for peace. The arab world is also tired of them

11/n
and will not give them much support except perhaps Qatar which is on a jiahdi trajectory.

With Biden's election and the takeover of Democratic party by Islamists, the peace that Trump brought to Middle East is under stress

But Israel is resolute

There is a lot of misinformation about defence matters in media. Much of it is deliberate because our enemies - China, Pak want to make gains without actually fighting. Their instruments like Force magazine induce fear.

But they don't understand the very basics of warfare

1/n
1. Comprehensive National Power - an important concept but it is relavent only when you are fighting a long conventional war where terrain has no large role to play. Take Vietnam for example. US's comprehensive national power was 100 times that of Vietnam. What happened?

2/n
I would be much more concerned with a massive gap in comprehensive national power if its plains and desert. For example US and Iraq. But when its even slightly mountainous like USSR in Afghanistan comprehensive national power goes for a toss.

What matters folks is not

Rubbish. You are no military professional. You don't even know basics of map reading, tactics forget operational art and strategy. We can break Pak spine while holding China.

1. We have 25-26 Divs positioned against Pak's 24. Pak is like a banana split East West

1/n

1/n
by Indus. It is also split North West in Pakjab by the 5 Punjab rivers.

2. 14 of Pak's divs are in Pakjab. Min 02 are needed against Iran and 02 for pacifying Balochistan and 01 for NWFP. That leaves just 4-5 South Punjab and further southwards

3. We can destroy all

2/n
bridges on all rivers making inter sector movement of Pak Army very difficult. We will also hit road and rail arteries which are all North South with key nodes at places like RYK. This will trap 14 Divs in North. We will hold these in Jammu, Punjab, with 10 Divs

I have been critical of Modi govt's weakness and appeasement that is leading to Hindu Genocide. We will pay a heavy prize as a nation in the coming decades, perhaps even with our nationhood.

But his handling of #Covid has been ok. Let me explain

1. Covid Death rates :

1/n
Even accounting for under reporting, India's death rates are 1/10 of UK. There are studies done by people who have no love for India that prove this. Covid death rates have been under reported across the world.

2. Second wave : was inevitable after ''farmer's protests''

2/n
The fact that Punjab testing has shown overwhelming cases of the UK strain right from Feb shows us that. Modi govt erred in not loudly saying that Farmer's protests will bring 2nd Wave. They lost the information and narrative battle as they often do

3. Oxygen shortage :

Sharing what a senior serving bureaucrat told me today re #Bengalburning

1. Violence will calm down in 24/48 hrs. Ms have been given enough time to take out the anger against Hindus for saying Jai Shri Ram. Message has been sent- we can murder, rape you

@Sanjay_Dixit

1/n
at will and you are not allowed to fight back. Hindu resistance has been broken. DM/DC across country do the same thing- let Muslims attack but stop Hindu self defence. PM has being doing the same for a long time.

Maybe BJP assesses that it will not hurt them electorally

2/n
But it has set a very bad precedent and reinforced the resolve of M's to assert their strength. As there will be no consequences either from the state or from Hindus. This will increase attacks on Hindus across the board as we have been seeing for some time

It will also

In the below tweet thread I had shown how India had the edge over China on land and air. But I had not covered the naval dimension.

Many have asked me to do so. Here goes

1. PLAN has a massive numbers advantage over IN especially in submarines

1/n

in.finance.yahoo.com/news/does-indi…
PLAN has 60 odd subs of which 35 are modern and capable of blue water ops. We have 13 odd which are available for Ops

2. 🇨🇳 subs can come into our waters via the Mallaca Straits. Its a 2700 nautical mile one way journey and the channel very narrow and just 25 mt deep

2/n
So PLAN subs will to surface while transiting the channel. They will be picked up by ISR assets very easily and tracked till they dive. Yes we are very short of ASW heptrs and can barely manage 08 but we do have 9 P8I a/c and can certainly hunt them at Mallaca straits.

Understand and respect your citizen concern but this is Chinese psychological ops. Let me to set your mind at ease

1. No one has caught us by our jugular vein. If they could, they would have launched sustained shutdowns during Corps Cdr negotiations. You threaten before or

1/n
during negotiations, not after you have conceded

2. Why did Chinese demolish all their structures and literally run back? Because they did not want to fight as they knew they would loose badly. If they could shut electric grids down they would have done it then

2/n
3. Yes, they are certainly going to try to launch cyber attacks. Its part of their openly states 3 warfares doctrine. But its not very effective till now because most of our grids are offline

4. The threat will grow and we must focus on countering it. But by no stretch is
