If Marjorie Taylor Greene was a Muslim, she would be in Guantanamo Bay and in shackles. But because she is white, evangelical, and a woman, she is instead a member of the House of Representatives in the most powerful country in the world. feministgiant.com/p/if-marjorie-…
As recently as September, she posted on her candidate Facebook page an image of herself holding a gun alongside images of Democratic Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib and incited violence against them. cnn.com/2020/09/04/pol…
Greene was dangerous and vile long before she was elected but because much of her vileness was directed at Muslims, Black people, and Jews, Republicans shrugged and carried on being the craven shits they are, happy to throw their weight behind anyone who brings them votes.
Greene has been called “a Donald Trump in Heels." Republicans who should have done everything to ensure that she never ran, placated concerns about her with facile “I hope that she will grow and learn,” in office and, as they said about Trump. feministgiant.com/p/if-marjorie-…
It is imperative to recognize that Greene, like Trump, is not aberration. She is from Georgia, where 75% of white women voters chose a white man - Brian Kemp - vs Stacey Abrams for governor in 2018.
Southern women are the nexus of the GOP’s Southern Strategy’s reliance on race, gender, and religion to keep white people in that part of the U.S. resolutely Republican and increasingly right wing. White supremacist evangelical patriarchy has an army of white women footsoldiers.
The danger, always, is that someone as vile as Greene is normalized by the U.S. media.
White, blonde, Christian women--even the dangerous ideologues--are afforded the privilege of default and the audacity of innocence. Look at Elle magazine last year
Look at Axios: Even as calls for her expulsion from Congress grew, Axios saw fit to create a false equivalence between Green and the Squad, including AOC, who she has again subjected to aggression.

Marjorie Taylor Green is one of the most dangerous people elected to the US Congress (and that's saying something). I wrote this about her and Lauren Boebert, another dangerous fanatic, and their support of the Jan. 6 insurrection feministgiant.com/p/a-white-supr…
*Southern white women
If Donald Trump could give birth, it would have been to Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert, both of whom are clearly created in his image. He might have left, but they have just arrived.
Greene is part of red wave that made history in the November elections. The record # of GOP women who flipped blue seats red are anti-feminists who are helping to burnish the GOP's misogyny, i.e. "we can't be misogynists, look how many women were elected." feministgiant.com/p/a-white-supr…
The GOP has long been a party of white supremacy, misogyny, Islamophobia, and a host of other oppressions. And GOP women understand the very specific role they play to maintain it. They are also learning that to succeed vs the boys, they must outdo the boys in hate-- enter Greene
I FaceTime videod with my parents today to say Happy #Eid I told my dad that in the full throes of #perimenopause I was having allergies —a family tradition. I told him that if I don’t have another period by October I will be free!
“Before the military attacks, we had major shortages and could barely manage with the second (virus) wave...Now casualties are coming from all directions, really critical casualties. I fear a total collapse."
I know it’s difficult not to be with loved ones for another Eid since the pandemic began, but I hope whether by video chat/phone/etc, you can exchange greetings with loved ones. ❤️✊🏽💜

This Eid is hard for my extended family because one of my cousins died of #COVID19 in Egypt yesterday. He most likely was infected through his work as a doctor.
This Eid is hard for many others around the world who’ve lost loved ones, esp Palestinians under Israeli bombardment
I still wanted to send #Eid greetings as an act of love and solidarity 💜✊🏽❤️
I just found out my cousin Amr has died of #COVID19 in #Egypt. He was 40yrs old and had 5 children. I am heartbroken for his family and his parents my Tante Leila & Uncle Khairy, and his siblings: his twin sister Yasmine, and brothers, Ahmed and Fouad, also twins. Rest well, Amr
Amr is one of at least 3.3 million people who have died of #COVID19 globally.
It is not over. We are not about to "go back to normal." None of us is safe until all of us are safe.
Please take all precautions you can. And fight for #CovidVaccine equity and universal vaccination.
Almost exactly a year ago, Beloved @rerutled's father Richard died of #COVID19.
Our families are among the millions of families who have lost loved ones to this global pandemic, unable to grieve collectively or to find solace in family gatherings.
The sons of rich and powerful men are protected and enabled: #Egypt halts investigation into a gang rape known as the “Fairmont incident,” releases all detained defendants thenationalnews.com/mena/egypt/egy… via @TheNationalNews
Three of the nine defendants in the Fairmont Incident case, were referred to a criminal court last month for another alleged sexual assault.
The three are accused of raping another woman at a resort on Egypt’s Mediterranean coast.
The daughters of the poor and powerless: In the name of “morality” and safeguarding “Egyptian family values,” the regime arrested and jailed at least 9 young, mostly working class women for singing, dancing, and posting selfies on Tik-Tok feministgiant.com/p/essay-macho-…#Egypt
The drive to draft wombs into the service of producing workers is especially sharp in the US and China, each vying for global leadership and each reeling from population decline and plummeting birth rates.
So threatening is the rejection of heterosexual sex, marriage & child-rearing—an idea known as 6B4T, which originated among South Korea’s radical feminist movement—that feminists espousing it were abruptly kicked offline.
