I FaceTime videod with my parents today to say Happy #Eid I told my dad that in the full throes of #perimenopause I was having allergies —a family tradition. I told him that if I don’t have another period by October I will be free!

“Have a party!” he said.

I know it’s difficult not to be with loved ones for another Eid since the pandemic began, but I hope whether by video chat/phone/etc, you can exchange greetings with loved ones. ❤️✊🏽💜

This Eid is hard for my extended family because one of my cousins died of #COVID19 in Egypt yesterday. He most likely was infected through his work as a doctor.

This Eid is hard for many others around the world who’ve lost loved ones, esp Palestinians under Israeli bombardment
I still wanted to send #Eid greetings as an act of love and solidarity 💜✊🏽❤️

I just found out my cousin Amr has died of #COVID19 in #Egypt. He was 40yrs old and had 5 children. I am heartbroken for his family and his parents my Tante Leila & Uncle Khairy, and his siblings: his twin sister Yasmine, and brothers, Ahmed and Fouad, also twins. Rest well, Amr
Amr is one of at least 3.3 million people who have died of #COVID19 globally.

It is not over. We are not about to "go back to normal." None of us is safe until all of us are safe.

Please take all precautions you can. And fight for #CovidVaccine equity and universal vaccination.
Almost exactly a year ago, Beloved @rerutled's father Richard died of #COVID19.

Our families are among the millions of families who have lost loved ones to this global pandemic, unable to grieve collectively or to find solace in family gatherings.

Take care of each other. 💜

The drive to draft wombs into the service of producing workers is especially sharp in the US and China, each vying for global leadership and each reeling from population decline and plummeting birth rates.
