Breaking: Among the 180 cases in #Taiwan, 89 are in Taipei, 75 in New Taipei. There are also cases in Taichung and Changhua.
All recent cluster cases in #Taiwan share the same mutated #COVID19 strain from the UK.
Apart from 89 confirmed cases in Taipei and 75 confirmed cases in New Taipei City, there are 6 new cases in Changhua County, 4 in Yilan County, 4 in Taoyuan County, 1 in Taichung City and 1 in Keelung.
#Taiwan has now vaccinated more than 180,000 citizens so far, according to the government.
Health Minister Chen Shih-Chong corrected himself and said the criteria to enforce a total lockdown in #Taiwan is if there are more than 100 new local #COVID19 cases for 14 days in a row.
Chen also reiterated that all confirmed cases would have already been hospitalized before they were counted into the official cases.
Restaurants can't host more than 100 people indoor and if they can't ensure proper social distance and shield between customers, they should transition into takeouts.
There are 126 facilities across #Taiwan that offer #COVID19 testing and they can process more than 16,000 cases a day.
Meanwhile, #Taipei City Mayor @KP_Taipei also urges citizens to stay home and don't go out to eat. He says that if people absolutely have to go out, they must wear masks. cna.com.tw/news/firstnews…
Additionally, #Taiwan will stop accepting self-paying citizens to schedule for #COVID19 vaccination as the government continues to widen the pool for the government-subsidized vaccination program. cna.com.tw/news/ahel/2021…
However, those who have already scheduled for their self-paying vaccination will still be able to get vaccinated as originally planned.

A powerful op-ed on #Xinjiang's human rights crisis from @JewherIlham and @SophieHRW: "The gravity of abuses against Ilham Tohti and so many others across the Uyghur region is breathtaking. But to fail in the effort to stop them would be to give Beijing ...theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
... a free pass to commit crimes against humanity. The supposedly 'hostile forces' do not need to “whine” – they need to act."
"Ilham Tohti’s fate was a grim harbinger of the government’s campaign of repression against Uyghurs, Kazakhs and other Muslims across the Uyghur region."
Breaking: One of the main hospitals in #Taiwan's New Taipei City, Fareastern Hospital, reported 7 #COVID19 cases within the hospital and the hospital said so far all medical staff have been tested negative. cna.com.tw/news/firstnews…
The hospital has also immediately tested all the patients that have come into close contact with the initial patient who was tested positive on May 14.
The hospital will now try to reduce the number of incoming patients for their clinics and they will only discharge patients from hospitalization and they will temporarily not accept any new incoming patients unless they are in critical and urgent conditions.
According to the result from a report by the German Bundestag's Scientific Service, German companies could soon be forced to restrict their activities in #Xinjiang or withdraw from there altogether, due to the serious violations against #Uyghurs. sueddeutsche.de/politik/untern…
"The report states that once the Supply Chain Act comes into force, 'an obligation on the part of German companies to break off business relations with their Chinese suppliers seems almost inevitable' if they use forced laborers. Otherwise, German companies would face fines.
In individual cases, "individual criminal liability of company employees" could also result.
An airstrike launched by Israel destroyed a high-rise building in #Gaza that housed the offices of several foreign media outlets including @AP, @AlJazeera_World, and others. apnews.com/article/israel…
AP staffers and other tenants safely evacuated the building after the military telephoned a warning that the strike was imminent within an hour. Three heavy missiles struck the 12-story building, collapsing it in a giant cloud of dust.
“The world will know less about what is happening in Gaza because of what happened today,” AP President and CEO Gary Pruitt said in a statement.
This is my rather lazy attempt to stock up some emergency things amid the latest #COVID19 outbreak.
Honest confession: I almost never cook and I am lazy so my priorities are anything that can be made instantly....
My whole shopping took five minutes cuz I honestly just grabbed whatever I saw on the shelf. Didn’t even bother to read the instructions...lol Laziness rules!
