A deep depression, which is the remnant of #CycloneTauktae over South Rajasthan, will move northeastwards, towards the West Himalayan region, gradually weaken, and become insignificant by Thursday morning.

Under its influence, heavy to very heavy rainfall with widespread flooding, inundation and landslide risk is possible over the Western Himalayan region and the adjoining northwestern plains on Wednesday through Thursday.

A #cyclonic circulation continues to persist over Northeast India, and it will cause widespread rainfall over the region.

The rainfall activity will be intense from Tuesday, and rain totals in excess of 100 mm a day are forecast over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and adjoining places from Wednesday through Friday. These places have risks of mudslides and swollen rivers due to the drag on rain activity.

#WeatherUpdate: A trough along the western coast of the Southern peninsula will bring prolonged rain over Kerala and Coastal Karnataka for a couple of days.

Meanwhile, temperatures will continue to remain below average across India this week. Much of the Semi-Arid and Gangetic plains are likely to witness 8°C below normal for the next three days, and then cooler conditions will drag on in much of India until end-May at least.
