Generally, states with more freedom attract more migrants, domestic and international, than states with less freedom. People vote with their feet. There are 3 polls over the years that suggest that the people moving to #Texas are not a political threat. 2/6

In 2013, UT Austin and the @TexasTribune polled Californians who moved to Texas. They were 57% conservative vs. 27% liberal. In the 2018 US Senate race, a CNN exit poll found that non-natives voted for Sen. Cruz by +15, natives voted for O'Rourke +3. 4/6

Our own poll of 800 Texas voters in 2019 found voters born in Texas favoring Trump over Clinton by 7% compared to transplants favoring Trump by 12%. Our polling this year found the same level of support for Trump and Biden between natives and non-natives. 6/6
Postscript: In our most recent round of polling, almost 1,300 voters, we found that where mover came from matters. Movers from the Mountain West are the most conservative. Immigrants from Latin America are the most liberal. Fmr. Californians skew conservative.
