If you want a better life it all starts in your mind!!

Your mindset today is the key to unlocking a better tomorrow!

Master the 5 Cs for a better life!!

-Calm
-Clarity
-Courage
-compassion
-Concentration

Here’s how to improve & do just that!!
👇👇👇
1) Calm:

4 years ago I never thought I would be writing on ways to have a calm mind.
I was riddled with anxiety & on meds.
This is just who I am I lied to myself.

I see so many today like I was.
A prisoner in their own minds.

-can’t sleep
-negative thoughts control them.
Then I started:

-Hard, physical activity!
Push yourself physically & you’ll grow mentally!

-Daily gratitude.
I write things I’m grateful for each day. (1,065 straight days!)
This one habit has programmed my brain to see the good!

-Walks outside.
Get in nature & off screens!
-Metacognition.
Practice controlling your thoughts!
@ZachHomol has a pinned tweet that is 🔥🔥. Check it out!

The ability to calm your mind when you face pressure is critical for a healthy mindset!

Calmness comes by bringing awareness to your thoughts & your surroundings.
2) Clarity

Clarity comes with having a clear vision & WHY behind what you’re doing & how you spend your time!

Sadly, most live on autopilot & never ask themselves the right questions to gain clarity on what their purpose is.

This lack of purpose leads to anxiety & depression.
Questions like:
-whats my perfect day look like?
-what steps can I take to make this my reality?
-What people/inputs do I need to eliminate to be my best self & achieve my goals?

✅Gain a clear idea of what’s important to you!
✅Focus & eliminate distractions to gain clarity!
3) Courage

To master courage you need to master telling than inner voice!!

It’s ok to feel afraid to try new things, tell that person how you feel, or get outside your comfort zone!

Just don’t get stuck there!

Feeling fear is natural,
Your next reaction is up to you!!
Have the courage to take action!!
Don’t be afraid to fail because you’ll always regret not trying!

When you procrastinate & avoid taking action, you’ll always remain stuck!

Have the courage to break those patters today & move forward towards the best you!!
4) Compassion

Compassion & empathy to others is a must if you want to live your best life.

The world is beautifully rigged in a way that you can’t show compassion & kindness to others without getting a benefit yourself!

Kindness always wins with others & YOURSELF!!
The best way to have a healthy mindset is to show compassion for yourself!

You wouldn’t allow others to speak to you the way your inner voice does.

That voice is always with you,
Ensure its building you up!

Focus less on how you compare to others & compete only with yourself!!
5) Concentration

In today’s society distractions are everywhere.
Your attention is pulled in a million directions.

To win, you must learn to block out everything that distracts you from your goals.

Concentration is about commitment & dedication to yourself & your goals!!
Narrow your focus & eliminate things that don’t promote your goals & the best you!

I’ve given up:
-TV & Netflix
-Toxic friends
-Casual porn viewing

This has 100x my life!

We often win the most by eliminating bad habits!

CONCENTRATE on figuring out what you can leave behind!
Several years ago I believed the lie I was born with anxiety & destined to be a prisoner of it.
Then, I fought back!

I am begging you to do the same!

Master the 5 Cs & take control of your life!
You’re 1 decision away!!

It starts with you believing it in your mind first! 🤝

A few years ago we were in a terrible marriage.

Our house wasn’t a home, it was a war zone.
We didn’t speak days at a time.

-We said the D word
-All we have almost wasn’t
-My kids could’ve not had a dad around

Last night my wife said,
This is better than our honeymoon!
Men,
I beg you it all starts with you!

Here’s 20 things that helped us that maybe others can find value in.

Everyones situation is unique
but hopefully you can takeaway something from these.

We need loving homes & present strong families now more than ever!
1) Prioritize your family above all else.

This means making a CHOICE to
-work less
-watch less TV
-set boundaries with friends

Men, fill yourself up first.
I wake at 5am to:
-train
-journal
-pray for my family

Then,
I am ready to pour into them!
It starts with you men!!

Trying to lose Weight?
Trying to stop that bad habit?
Trying to save & invest more?
Trying to repair your marriage?

What you need to do is stop trying!!

Trying implies you’ll put effort in until you meet resistance & then you’ll reassess it.

What you really need to do is
👇👇
Decide right now your line is in the sand.

You don’t care what obstacle comes up or what resistance you meet!!

I’m talking about the real level of commitment.

You’re going to stay disciplined long after motivation wears off because you believe so deeply in your WHY to do it!!
I drew such a line a few years ago.
I was:

-Skinny fat
-Low energy
-Blamed everyone but myself
-In a bad marriage
-Depressed
-On anxiety meds

Then I got on my knees one night & wrote out who I was going to become & WHY I was going to become that man!!!

The best place I learned about life was at a nursing home.

My wife asked me to volunteer a few years ago & I reluctantly accepted :)

I’ll admit, I dreaded it at first.

But like everything in life,
what you put in you get out.

The experience ended up changing my life!
👇👇
We started going 1 Sunday a month.

I even got to preach a Bible lesson & our family would then serve communion.

After a couple Sundays we started staying after to chat & hangout.

We met war heroes, widows, business owners, & some of the most interesting people there!
It’s amazing what talking & building a relationship with people in their last season of life will do.

So many spoke about regrets.
They spoke about priorities & what truly mattered in life.

I learned quickly not one regretted failing.
The only regrets were not taking chances!

I know someone reading this is thinking
Monday, the week is just starting & I feel tired, worn down & not my best.

I would like to offer a word of encouragement & quick story about how one man not zoning out on a Monday changed my entire life.

👇👇👇
Guy on the far left is Kolby
the most positive, motivating man I have ever met!

I met him at the lowest point in my life:
- recently divorced & cheated on
- depressed & riddled with anxiety
- drinking uncontrollably
-149 pounds no muscle & less confidence
-suicidal thoughts :(
One Monday a friend who was concerned asked me to lunch.

I went & there was introduced to Kolby.
He was a personal trainer & full of life!
This dude talked to everyone, encouraged & thanked waiters & staff!
Complimented strangers!!

He seemed so happy to be alive!

3) Get accountability!

@devinmcdermot said

“Its amazing how it affects & destroys almost every aspect of your life.
Relationships, depression & loneliness etc.
Porn affects all these things and people don't realize it.”

I saw this & messaged two of my best friends I was done!
Men seeking other men for help is a taboo thing & shouldn’t be!

I told 2 brothers that night, I never thought I had a problem, it was just occasional, all guys did it...

That was a lie,
It was harmful!

I came clean & told them.
It was a weight off my chest!
I wasn’t alone now!
4) You’ll hate this, but if you want to quit, do what it takes.

Tell your wife or S/O.

It’s not easy.
Real men, honorable ones, like you want to become do hard things.

I told my wife the truth.
I wanted her to be the only woman I ever:
-looked at
-fantasized about
-dreamt of

Transitioning out of full time bank management & reflecting a bit on the journey.

Here’s my favorite story I had with a jerk client a few years ago :)

(I’ve since grown as a human & probably wouldn’t do this today..

but he may have deserved it 😉you guys tell me!)

👇👇👇
This super grumpy gentleman walks in his late 40s.
He came in a couple times week & had a complaint every time.

He had filed a complaint before we had too many handicapped parking spots?

I know you know the type :)

That day he walks in & says I want to speak to a manager!!
I say that’s me man come in to my office.

He proceeds to tell me one of my tellers has been stealing from him for months.

I ask which one & he says,
“That black one, she’s a thief.”

My jaw must have hit the floor.
I had one employee that fit that description.
