What is the incidence of VITT after 2nd AZ vaccination? The MHRA are saying 1.3 per 1 million. I say it may be a lot less and could be zero. #VITT #COVIT19 1/7
We do not know much about the 2nd dose VITT cases that the MHRA claims to have had reported to them. They are all >50 but we do not know anything else. Why do they not publish type of thrombosis, age, sex, co-morbidities, anti-PF4? 2/7
It is accepted that the MHRA have had 18 reports of thrombosis with thrombocytopenia after 2nd dose AZ vaccine. But are they VITT? Do they definitely not have cancer or sepsis? Do they fulfil the attached typical VITT definition? 3/7 
Why would the age of the VITT affected persons be so completely different if it is after a 1st or 2nd AZ dose? Could it be that the older persons have alternative co-morbidities that could account for the thrombosis and thrombocytopenia? 4/7
Why has there been only 1 new report of 2nd AZ dose VITT in 1 week, if so many more people are being vaccinated with 2nd AZ doses in the UK? 5/7
I have still not heard a convincing case of 2nd AZ dose VITT, nor spoken to a UK haematologist who has seen a case. 6/7
It is possible that cases may still appear as more people get a 2nd AZ vaccination. However in the UK so far, 13.4 million persons have had a 2nd AZ vaccination and this includes 2.7 million aged 18-49 years. 7/7
