🚨⚠️Growing concerns at ongoing🇺🇳UN Climate Talks that modalities of virtual negotiations constitute huge step back for the right of civil society and #IndigenousPeoples to participate effective in climate related decision making!

2/ Virtual set up cld have been opportunity for inclusive process, yet many decisions prevent participation:
🔇no adequate input in plenary
🤐no modalities for effective input in negotiations
⛔️critical negotiations closed
🤝no opportunities for informal interactions/events

3/ Lack of transparency & participation is serious concern, esp when:
❌ concerns of those representing most vulnerable are ignored
🚓civil society space is shrinking globally & environmental leaders are under threats
⚖️agenda doesnt allow to address issues re: to #ClimateJustice

4/ Looking forward: these issues MUST be fixed urgently, at #SB2021 session as well as on road to #COP26.
#UNFCCC parties must:
🔍ensure transparency of talks
🗣️allow effective interventions
⚖️broaden agenda
➡️meet their #HumanRights obligations in global climate talks
