.@KHancock4TX, author of #SB2: this is a total reform of @ERCOT_ISO. Our #1 goal is we take care of consumers. Prev. it was formed w/industry experts. We found in our convos & hearings, there began to be some conflicts of interest. It's completely 100% independent now. #txlege

The decision to "blow up" @ERCOT_ISO in #SB2 was not done until the bill was in conference committee, negotiations b/w the 2 chambers behind closed doors and had no public hearings on the policy decision. #txlege #txenergy

The sponsor of #SB2 and #SB3, @chrispaddie: everything we did [these bills & "securitization"] was to help consumers, help their bills remain low, making sure we don't have another blackout again. #txlege #txenergy

What about concerns that these reforms will not be in place in time to keep the power grid stable this summer & winter?

Hancock: We got reserve capacity this summer. Based on what we know in '22, we have 28% reserve capacity. We're continuing to meet demand. #txlege #txenergy

.@DrSchwertner, author of #SB3, says the bill has PUC & RRC decide appropriate infrastructure be weatherized. We're deferring to the experts to make the rules to follow the directive of #txlege. #txenergy

When asked about direct ratepayer relief being stripped in conference cmte for #SB3 ($350 credit in utility bill), Schwertner said it will continue to be discussed but didn't make the finish line. He refers to securitization bills passed that'll have an impact. #txlege #txenergy
