I’d been working a 9-5 office job that I didn’t love for a year.
I came home one night & said
“this won’t be my life!”
I refuse to accept this as the way I spend the next 30 years.
Society says it’s normal,
I WON’T BE NORMAL THEN!
Here’s the top 10 ways we set me free!👇👇👇
I say WE first off because without the full support of my queen I would never be in this position.
It’s really trendy & I see a bunch of “alphas” on here hating on women & relationships.
Young kings,
ATTRACT the right woman & she’ll make you richer, wiser & better in every way!
1) Create a plan!
Write this plan down or it’s just a dream!
For us we needed
-X amount of passive income
-get rid of debt
-have X amount invested & saved
Then I could fire my company!! 🔥
With tangible numbers a plan was hatched & that vision was born!
2) Wake up early!
Before,
I snoozed, played on my phone & accomplished nothing.
Now,
I wake up early everyday & NEVER snooze!
I have a set routine I start everyday with!
-chug 2 waters
-journal gratitude
-pray/visualize the day
-train hard! 💪
Win the morning,
Win the day!
3) Train hard.
Health is your greatest asset.
You’re 10x sharper mentally when you push yourself physically!
Fitness & movement is a gateway drug to self improvement!
Changing my body improved:
-respect I got
-mindset
-energy
Movement = medicine for your body, mind & soul!
I was promoted & given raises so many times simply because I was:
-high energy always!
-always built others up!
-never joined in complaining!
-became a pretty jacked dad, it helps!
I didn’t know policy as well as others, but I had enthusiasm & everyone liked working with me!
4) Live below your means!
I was promoted 5x in my corporate career.
We saved more & bought more passive income each promotion!
Don’t upgrade your lifestyle if you want freedom!
Live below your means & enjoy a freedom that the “keeping up with the Jones’s” types never will!
5) Reduce monthly costs.
It’s a no brainer.
Get a budget!
See where your dollars are going!
I was amazed at how many subscription services I had that I never used!
I started meal prepping instead of eating out!
$10 a day vs $12 a week!!
Cut out Sbux $5 a day!
It adds up!
6) Side hustle!
What are you passionate about?
What would you love to do if money wasn’t an object?
I almost guarantee there’s a way nowadays to monetize it!
We:
-flipped & restored furniture
-flipped kids toys
-my wife taught English online
-I play poker & coach
-sold plants!
We had an absolute blast doing these things & while you’re working on them you are improving yourself & not spending money :)
It became a way of life for us that we would get amped about!
It made my wife & I so much closer! Working on shared goals with a shared dream! ❤️🔥
7) Care 0% what others think about you :)
“If you’re going to win in society today you need to be an outlier”
-@_CynthiaThurlow
This is so true, it’s normal to:
-be overweight
-work for 40 years & live paycheck to paycheck.
-care more about Netflix than creating your own life!
I decided I was all in!!
I ran sprints at lunch.
I did push-ups on break!
I never ate crap office food.
I never splurged when they ordered afternoon desserts.
I was on mission & locked in!
I decided I was going to be true to myself & my goals no matter what!
8) Leverage every minute!
Let’s be honest,
most office jobs are 8 hour workdays, you WORK 4-5.
You play on your phone, read about sports, or talk with other co-workers the other time.
Leverage that time!!
I was going to my 9-5 with 5 things to accomplish on my side hustles!
It made work so much fun!
I had projects, clients & things I was passionate about during the day I was working on!
One time I had a client call scheduled on lunch but my boss came in.
I told my boss I had IBS so I could go make the client call!🔥💩
That’s how bad I wanted it!
9) Give up distractions.
Narrow your focus on what matters!
I 100% gave up:
-Netflix, Cable & TV.
-Casual viewing of porn (best decision ever!)
-golf (this one hurt but I ultimately decided I wanted freedom of time during this season more than golf)
-Excuses. It’s always on me!
I always said before,
I’m a dad with a 45 hour work week & kids I don’t have time to workout, side hustle or do anything else!
Here’s the thing tho!!!
I watched freaking Game of Thrones twice!!
Stop lying to yourself,
You have time!!
Simply prioritize what matters!
10) Passive income!!
I can’t stress this enough it’s the way to buy your freedom!!
My wife & I own farmland we cash rent out as our main source but there’s plenty of others!
I am no expert on money, but I listen to others that are!
-rental properties
-dividend stocks
-land
Choose one & start using your dollars to buy freedom instead of buying stuff!
Being home with my family was my main motivation for escaping a 40 year corporate sentence :)
I love being a dad that jumps out of bed pumped to work on things I love & pour into my family everyday!!
I never say my way is better,
It’s just my path!
If you work a 9-5 & love it & feel fulfilled that’s so awesome!
I’m pumped for you & never let anyone shame you for that!
I just see a lot of people working jobs they don’t like.
I was one.
I don’t see many doing much about it!
If you fall into this category I urge you to take ACTION!!
We are only here once & you need to wake up with passion, purpose & a mission bigger than
“getting through the day” so you can watch Netflix at night.
I was there for a while.
This side is so much better!!
One night several years ago I got on my knees & promised God & myself I wasn’t going to be normal anymore.
I knew I was created for more.
I believe many of you reading this have that same feeling deep down that I did!
Trust your gut!
Take calculated risks!
If anyone reading this is interested in how I went from the overweight, stuck dad to the ripped, high energy dad while working a 45 hour a week job with kids I lay my blueprint out here.

4 years ago I never thought I would be writing on ways to have a calm mind.
I was riddled with anxiety & on meds.
This is just who I am I lied to myself.
I see so many today like I was.
A prisoner in their own minds.
I know someone reading this is thinking
Monday, the week is just starting & I feel tired, worn down & not my best.
I would like to offer a word of encouragement & quick story about how one man not zoning out on a Monday changed my entire life.
👇👇👇
Guy on the far left is Kolby
the most positive, motivating man I have ever met!
I met him at the lowest point in my life:
- recently divorced & cheated on
- depressed & riddled with anxiety
- drinking uncontrollably
-149 pounds no muscle & less confidence
-suicidal thoughts :(
One Monday a friend who was concerned asked me to lunch.
I went & there was introduced to Kolby.
He was a personal trainer & full of life!
This dude talked to everyone, encouraged & thanked waiters & staff!
Complimented strangers!!
