3) Los Angeles county soon followed with their strong recommendation to mask indoors even if fully vaccinated. LA is now almost 50% #DeltaVariant #COVID19
4) the CDC is very very quietly backpedal and admitting that fully vaccinated need to wear masks… but only at homeless shelters currently. As if workers at homeless shelters are that different than other people? @CDCgov needs to come clean and update to rescind their old rec.
5) The #DeltaVariant has overtaken UK as 98-100% of all #COVID19 cases. And now what’s happening? Cases, hospitalizations and deaths all increasing, according to Uk govt stats. This is despite UK being more vaccinated than the US as a whole.
6) Let this sink in — #DeltaVariant has now caused a new **all time record high #COVID19** wave in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 that exceeds the former record high last winter. And Scotland is even more vaccinated than rest of Uk— Scotland is 49% fully vaccinated. #DeltaVariant is that contagious
7) Show us the hospitalization increase? Here it is— rising hospitalization and ICUs with #COVID19 in Scotland. It will likely keep rising too because #DeltaVariant cases recently spiking & there is a time lag. And delta has 2.5x the hospitalization risk as Alpha—so 4x original.
8) Cmon, how contagious is #DeltaVariant really? This damn contagious — “fleeting” airborne exposure of mere seconds is sufficient to transmit the virus. Sydney AUS is in lockdown because of it.
9) No frigging way it’s that airborne? Ooops #DeltaVariant did it again… and it’s genomic match confirmed too. And it was even outside. And it was even from the same index case as above! Australia 🇦🇺 contact tracing is serious….
10) Lordy, there better be tapes, or else you don’t believe it? Security camera footage proves it. No contact whatsoever - other than fleeting exposure is all that is needed between two people to transmit #DeltaVariant
11) Okay last one on fleeting exposure — Australian health authorities believe 5-10 seconds is all it takes for infection with #DeltaVariant. We now have irrefutable proof #DeltaVariant is a menace. Wear a mask please, preferably a premium mask or double cloth+surgical together.
12) It’s not fearmongering if we are advocating to save lives and prevent long-Covid suffering. It’s not fearmongering if we are trying to follow the precautionary principle to end this pandemic sooner. These words by @DrMikeRyan are the best words to live by in a pandemic…
13) Please read this thread for more… I’m short on time, but 1 dose vaccine is not nearly enough… 2 doses please!! the time window to get 2 doses before #DeltaVariant becomes dominant in the Us is now growing short. Vaccinate ASAP today. 🙏

2) Royal Caribbean International said on Tuesday it would require unvaccinated guests over 12 years of age traveling from Florida to show proof of insurance that covers COVID-19 related medical expenses, quarantine and evacuation.
3) The new policy comes after two unvaccinated teenagers tested positive on its Adventure of the Seas ship last week and two others were infected on Celebrity Millennium earlier this month.

This ⬇️ is a dangerous argument trying to justify pediatric illness & mortality via “let it infect kids” approach. “We are all going to die one day” is a complete abdication of public health and medicine ethics. Plus ignores #LongCovid & “disability adjusted life years”. #COVID19
