I don’t think #AJToynbee recognised the underlying cause of civilisational suicide, but I do.
It’s a consequence of civilisation itself perverting & corrupting evolved human nature, which was adapted to serve a tribal society’s long-term survival. A tribal society now long gone.

The primary purpose of the state is to facilitate a society’s self-exploitation, to the personal advantage of its elites & favoured clients, which, decisively, includes the very academics we look to as authorities on understanding society & the state.
Only being human, academics rationalise a system (the Matrix of state & capital) which is working well for them personally.
Medieval society was dominated by the Matrix of Church & aristocracy (the latter providing the muscle & power of the sword, the former the brains & power of the Word, i.e. moral authority), while modern Western society is dominated by the Matrix of state & capital.
The state, with social science academia at its core, has taken over the role of the Church, with the secular ideologies of civic (as opposed to ethno-) nationalism & post-racial #multiculturalism, DIVERSITY & #AntiRacism now serving its spurious claim to moral authority & POWER.
According to is apologists, the medieval church’s abuse of its moral authority & power was better than paganism, as now apologists for the “liberal democratic” state, despite its failings, argue that is better than fascism - as if this were the ONLY alternative.
It is this ideology which is responsible for White self-genocide.

The Holocaust was also an expression of #WhiteSelfGenocide! As is the misconceived, #NeverAgain, response to it, which goes to the opposite extremes of White racial self-denial, self-contempt & self-hatred. Notwithstanding that the Nazis were not racial, but ethno-supremacists.
If the West continues on its suicidal course, it will be a tragedy, not just for Whites, but for ALL humankind, as well as for our planet, as we continue to plunder & spoil it.
