Supreme Court while cancelling bail to BSP MLA Govind singh who stands accused for murdering MP Congress leader Devendra Chourasia holds that colonial mindset meted out to district judiciary has to change and thus uphold the first line of defence for the common.
#supremecourt
#SupremeCourt says:

1. Impartial judiciary is cornerstone of independence of judiciary

2. If faith of citizens has to be protected then independence of district judiciary is important

3. Colonial mindset mete out to district judiciary has to change
4. Independence of judiciary is the independence of each and every judge and so that they are independent of their superiors also

5. Compartmentalization of judiciary and executive cannot be breached by personal decision making of judges
6. If judges budge under such pressure political clout grows

7. The existence of a dual system will only chip away the legitimacy of the law
8. Judges who are undeterred in following law should be wary of launching a diatribe against state authorities without due inquiry

#Supremecourt #independenceofjudiciary
Why has the bail to BSP MLA been cancelled? #supremecourtofindia

1. Criminal antecedents of the accused and suing political clout by him

2. Abject failure of the police to complete the investigation into the murder of congress leader devendra chourasia
3. Govind Singh has evaded arrest in spite of warrants and orders of this court were not followed

4.Provision of security to the accused due to his wife who is an MLA, Rambai
The important point from the judgment:

#supremecourtofindia

Bail to Govind Singh stands cancelled
DGP transferred to another jail

#judicialindependence
The judgment was read out by Justice DY Chandrachud with Justice MR Shah on the bench. The case was heard and judgment delivered by a bench of Justices DY Chandrachud and Hrishikesh Roy
#supremecourt
Error in first tweet: Govind Singh, the accused is not an MLA. His wife is a BSP MLA.
