The U.S. Central Command has released a statement on the investigation in the M/T MERCER STREET vessel attack.

It added that the extensive damage caused to Mercer Street was the result of a third UAV attack, on July 30th. It says the UAV was loaded with military grade explosive, and resulted in the deaths of two crewmembers.
The explosion following the impact of the drone caused a 6 foot diameter hole in the topside of the pilot house, and badly damaged the interior. A Nitrate-based explosive identified as RDX was found on a chemical test, showing the UAV was rigged to cause harm and destruction.
U.S. explosives experts recovered several pieces of the UAV, including a vertical stabilizer, and internal components, which were "nearly identical" to previously-collected examples from Iranian UAVs.

Both Israeli and UK experts concur with the findings by the United States. The CENTCOM statement says evidence was shared with both.
