This is going to be a very deep & personal thread about my mom's death from Covid in December. It will be difficult for me to write it but I hope maybe it can change a few minds on things from a perspective many haven't heard. I'm going to try my best..

On December 12th my mom died from Covid & it's the circumstances which caused her death I want to talk about & how it relates to what's happening all across the country with masks & vaccines.

My mom lived in assisted living here in Denver. The building had been down for

several months but it only took 1 incident to completely upend things. Understand late last year that Covid wasn't taken that seriously (it still isn't today IMO). Despite this lockdown of the building with no visitors allowed at all, it was ultimately someone who is supposed

to ensure patients are taken care of which brought Covid in the building; a nurse. If you recall late last year we were being warned not to attend family holiday dinners & such. Not many listened & blew it off. Sadly the nurse which brought Covid is someone who did just that....

The nurse attended a very large Thanksgiving dinner with family. She later admitted that not only did she not wear a mask but didn't socially distance either. I'm unaware of how many who attended that Thanksgiving dinner caught Covid except 1 relative of hers.

With no mask & no social distancing, she was a magnet 🧲 for Covid & caught it at dinner from a relative who had it & didn't have it. Of course the nurse didn't know she had it either because Covid symptoms take anywhere from 7-14 days to show up.

The end result? Over a dozen people dead in the facility & dozens infected. My mom being one of them. And this is why I'm very staunchly pro-mask mandate & pro-vaccine. 😷💉

My mom's death was pre-vaccines & I firmly believe she'd be here today if there were vaccines then.

My mom's death from Covid should've never happened. It was senseless & needless all because someone was very selfish & very careless. And today that state of mind exists in a very big way & I don't understand why it does & how people defend their actions who do such things.

We're heading daily of Covid deaths increasing especially in red states like Texas, Florida, Mississippi, & Louisiana. And here on Twitter we see people raging against mask mandates & against vaccines entirely. And that scares the living shit out of me.

And I'm willing to bet those folks doing such things haven't lost an immediate family member to Covid because if they had, their opinions would change very quick & completely flip 180 degrees. It's ez to talk crap when it's something that hasn't impacted you. Yet.

How many needless deaths like my mom's are going to have to happen before we begin to take Covid seriously? Yesterday this happened in a school district in Florida. This is a prime example of what I speak of 👇

If you're anti-mask & anti-vaccine, I ask you this - Are you aware that you're ban immediate risk to everyone around you & are you aware your actions can literally kill people? How is your decision any different than that of someone who decides to get drive drunk?

Because right now that's what I feel like, lots of people protesting that drinking & driving is good & there should be no laws at all enforcing that. How is that any different than being absolutely wild eyed & angry over having to wear a mask?

We have enough death in this country from a healthcare system which was completely insufficient before Covid & now we're looking at state's healthcare symptoms completely collapsing. People are dying & have been from poverty long before Covid.

Please, I beg of you, wear a mask anytime you're in a public space & get vaccinated. Don't be another statistic like my mom or be the nurse who's responsible for my mom's death and all the others who she killed. Please. Think of what I said. Your life is valuable. 🙏🤲
