📍Our residents thrive because they love spending time with each other and our faculty, are great team players, and enjoy a good work life balance.
2/ What we look for (2/2):
📍If you are passionate about neurology, hardworking, and envision yourself contributing to the field, either locally in Houston, nationally, or globally, consider training with us!
3/🌇 More about our program:
The strength of our program lies in the deep camaraderie shared by residents and faculty, a strong clinical foundation, and an atmosphere that fosters intellectual curiosity and personal development. There’s no better place to learn neurology!
4/💖 Favorite aspect:
The people (residents and patients)!
5/ #Wellness (1/2):
Wise and Well is a program established by our residents that gives everyone protected time to relax, eat good food, and play games together. We also have a sports group (Neuro nerd athletics) that meets to play a variety of sports from tennis to basketball.
5/ #Wellness (2/2):
We have monthly happy hours with our fellows and faculty that are now gradually resuming with appropriate COVID-19 precautions!
6/🧠 Fun Fact:
Houston is the most diverse city in the US! And our residency is centered in the heart of the Texas Medical Center which is the largest medical center in the world.
7/🥼Opportunities after residency (1/2):
100% of our residents match into fellowship. Our recent grads have gone to fellowships across the country including Boston, Baltimore, LA, etc. and also stayed at our strong fellowship programs here at UT.
7/🥼Opportunities after residency (2/2):
Ultimately our alumni tend to settle evenly between academia and private practice. One example is Zafer Keser (@ZaferKeser6) who is now stroke faculty at Mayo Clinic in Rochester!
8/🤓 #MedStudent advice:
Take advantage of all the opportunities at your current institution and then branch out in residency to maximize your growth!

2/ 📍What we look for (1/2):

2/ 📍What we look for (2/2):
A team-focused attitude is also key, as we have a great group of residents and faculty who all support one another.
