1/ "... Simon Baron-Cohen... has previously been closely associated with “debunked” theories that have led to “inaccurate & damaging stereotypes” about autistic people, such as their lack of empathy...
He strongly disputes these claims about his work."
2/ The utter audacity he has to completely rewrite history, 'forget' the multiple studies, talks, interviews & books on ToM & extreme male brain.
Its his entire back catalogue.
The extremity of self-delusion & /or lying is mindboggling.
3/The awful, dehumanising and monstrous things SBC has written over the years. Work embedded in the minds and framework of services & the legacy of so many left unrecognised and unsupported.
4/ This chapter was the real start of that journey where he went out of his way to point out that in his view Autistic's lack 'The quintessential abilities that make us human' referring to ToM and recognising the emotional states of others.
5/ I literally have no words for the lies that are pouring out of SBCs mouth right now, simply because he is so detached from Autistic people he never considered that he would spark such a wave of opposition.

Honestly and with all due respect, if you think my work is amazing, then i've failed to teach you anything. This is one of the most dehumanising, loaded and negative questionnaires i've read in ages.
When one of the first questions you ask is on 'severity' (which is not a clinical label nor has ANY clinical value), you've already set the tone because what follows is just disgusting
Here we are establishing the negativity in our relationships with our children, because they aren't who we wanted them to be. How dare they.
1. Oh was yesterday #AutismAwarenessDay? Dang. I missed it. Instead I stayed off of social Media and spent a lovely day with my #ActuallyAutistic family not waving jigsaw pieces around, turning blue or spreading misinformation around that makes money for charities.
2. Later on I did a 3hr workshop on #AutisticMasking to 400 lovely Danish people with @DrAmyPearson. I missed #AutismAwarenessDay yet still somehow managed to pass on a shitload of useful & practical #Autism knowledge to a shitload of people
3. Its strangely like there's no need to have #AutismAwarenessDay, #AutismAwarenessWeek, or #AutismAwarenessMonth because for many Autistic people every day is, week and month of the year where we put out immensities of useful & productive #Autism information in various forms.
Dehumanising Autistics is nothing new, it's embedded in societal consciousness going back decades to those like Lovaas who felt Autistic people were empty shells waiting to be filled with 'normalcy'. That's perpetuated with the burden narrative and neuronormative standards.
