"Hari ini, kami mengumumkan kampanye boikot global terhadap Hilton," ujar direktur eksekutif organisasi Dewan Hubungan Amerika-Islam (CAIR), Nihad Awad, dikutip Al-Jazeera, Kamis (16/9).
Awad mengatakan bahwa CAIR juga sudah bernegosiasi secara tak langsung dengan grup hotel untuk membatalkan rencana pembangunan hotel itu. Namun, pembicaraan itu tak berhasil.
Dalam pernyataan di situs resminya, CAIR menyebut rencana pembangunan ini merupakan pelanggaran hak asasi manusia yang berkontribusi terhadap penghancuran iman dan budaya etnis Uighur.
"CAIR meyakini Hilton harus berada di pihak yang benar dengan mengumumkan akan membatalkan proyek ini dan menghentikan operasi apapun di wilayah Uighur, China, sampai pemerintahnya mengakhiri penganiayaan terhadap jutaan orang tak bersalah," tulis CAIR.

Many refugees will come with little to nothing. So, CAIR, an organization that provides resources to the local Muslim community, is gathering items for a welcome kit with necessities and a hot meal.
"We have prayer rugs, prayer beads, a copy of the holy Quran," CAIR Oklahoma Executive Director Adam Soltani said. "Making sure they feel welcomed and making sure they understand their faith and their culture are very safe in a place like Oklahoma."
