I’m a pretty new resident of #KitchenerCentre, but it’s obvious that something noteworthy happened here over the past couple of months – and the past couple of years – that saw @MorriceMike elected last night. It’s something that #cdnpoli, #onpoli & beyond should take note of. 🧵
In this riding, it seems that HOW a candidate shows up, serves their community and campaigns has proven to be as (or more) important as WHAT the candidate stands for.
To me, Mike’s victory is a triumph for a #leadership of humility, open-mindedness, respect, and grace – alongside a mandate to advocate for #affordablehousing, access to #healthcare, a livable #climate, etc.
He really did knock on almost every door in the riding. He really did listen to all voices. He really does want to bring his community’s voice into Parliament. And this stuff mattered to people around here.
The little green dot for #KitchenerCentre on a map painted red, blue and orange is a result of a refreshingly positive and human approach to politics – and a pretty impressive ground-game. Congrats to you Mike and your entire team!
