Supreme Court on Tuesday observed that the sudden change in examination pattern for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) PG Super Speciality exam 2021 sends a signal that medical education has become a "business."

SC: .. before change of pattern was notified. it is informed that modified pattern will be in effect from academic year 2022-23. since the grievance addressed under article 32 and in these circumstance petitions under article 32 are disposed off.
SC: ... Since Centre has taken a decision to hold the NEET SS 2021 which are scheduled for NOv 2021 on the basis of erstwhile pattern which held the field till now it is not necessary to adjudicate the validity of the modified pattern....
ASG: We will require two months for preparation,
Justice Chandrachud: so we will delete the November part in order so that your hands are not tied down.
Sr Adv Maninder Singh: yes the exams are to be held in January 2022
Adv Javedur Rehman: please have the exams be conducted by December so that there is a 2021 batch
