Life:

In a blink it can be over.

None of us are promised anything.

Go do what you want to do. Everyone has reasons that they put it off, whatever "it" is.

The real truth is we're scared. Scared to fail, scared to try, scared of what others might think.

In the end...
None of that matters.

You'll look back on your life with regret not for the things you tried that didn't work, but for the things you never tried at all.

Take the risk. It's worth it.

Barriers such as time, money, job, family, etc. are only barriers if you allow them to be.
Don't have the time or money to go all-out on your dream project?

Fine. Whoever said anything was wrong with starting small?

Some of the largest corporations in the world were founded in bedrooms, basements, and garages.

You just have to want it more.
What do I mean by "want it more?"

More than anyone else.
More than that other thing you'd rather be doing.
More than the other thing you want to buy.

Life comes down to choices.

Don't tell me what you're going to do, go do it.

Show me.
Don't have the time?

Yes you do.

We all do. We all have 24 hours.

Yes, I get it. Life circumstances are different for all of us.

But time compounds just like anything else.

Spend 30 minutes here, 15 there, and before you know it, you'll be shocked at the progress made.
Business:

Man... Business Twitter, FinTwit, CryptoTwit, whatever you want to call it, it's tough.

It can seem as though everyone is a multi-millionaire. Hell, maybe they are.

Not me.

I'm going to get there, but Twitter can sure make it feel like you're running behind...
Here's what I tell myself.

Similar to going to the gym when you've never worked out, it can be intimidating.

It can make you doubt yourself.

It can make you wonder if it's worth it.

It is.

You've heard it before, but it's true.

Gains happen slowly, then all at once.
It's easy to get lost in the sea of founders, investors, crypto kings, and more and ask yourself why you haven't made it yet.

It's just not your time. All the people you're looking toward started somewhere.

They didn't wake up one morning and magically become a founder.
They worked at it.

They toiled when no one was looking.

They failed. Probably a lot.

The difference?

They kept going.

I have a good friend (@wdmorrisjr) who told me a story once about perseverance.

I won't get it exactly right, he's a much better storyteller than me...
But you'll get the point.

It's about climbing a mountain and how everyone loves to post and share pictures from the summit.

They've made it.

They're at the top.

It's quite literally amazing.

But here's what you don't see:
The journey it took to get there.

The freezing cold nights, the cuts, the scrapes, the bruises.

All of the times they wanted to quit.

They thought they couldn't do it.

They were in too deep.

They just wanted to go home.
The story ends with a question.

What if no one ever kept going?

What if every person got 50, 70, 90% of the way there and turned back?

We wouldn't know what "making it" looks like.

The lesson is two-fold in my opinion.
First: Envy doesn't look good on anyone.

Instead of being jealous of those who have made it to where you want to be, be thankful they've shown us the way.

Spend less time on the result, study the path.

This will reveal far more answers about how to get where you want to be.
Second: Don't stop 90% of the way up the mountain.

It feels like a TV episode where the audience is in on the plot.

We (the audience) know that if the hero can last just a little bit longer, take one more step, climb one more mountain, he's going to make it.

But our hero?
He doesn't know.

He wants to quit.

Guess what? You're the hero.

The rest of the world is the audience.

They can see that you're so close.
They're rooting for you to make it.
They want to reach through the screen and push you.

Keep going! Hang on just a little longer!
Family:

Don't take it for granted.

They're the ones that will be with you through it all.

The ups, the downs, the wins, the losses.

In most cases, they are the support system behind the scenes.

Getting none of the glory, yet putting in just as much (if not more) work.
Call your parents.

Spend time with your wife.

Cherish your children.

These are the greatest blessings bestowed on us by God.

I'm guilty of not voicing the appreciation I have for them, as often as I should.

It's easy to forget to tell people what they mean to you.
There's no time more well spent.

Let them know you care.

That you appreciate everything they do.

That you love them.

Realize - You can't do it without them.
As for me...

This is a little "out-of-the-norm" of what I usually write.

If you found it useful, please share.

Feeling out of the loop on Web 3?

No worries, I've got you covered.

A thread on what it is, what's changing, & why you should care.

(In simple terms) 🧡
To understand where we're going, we need to know where we've been.

Web 1.0 - Built for consumption

Think of the web in this era as a giant "digital library."

Characterized by static web pages, the internet was a place users visited to consume, not create. Image
Web 2.0 - The "Social Web"

The next evolution of the web has allowed the masses to become active participants.

Creating & sharing content through blogs, social media, and various interactive applications.

In short: Everyone can be an author / editor / distributor. Image

Think crypto is confusing?

You're right.

Let's make it easier.

Here's Crypto Terminology 101: 🧡
Altcoin:

Any coin that's not #Bitcoin

Ether is the native cryptocurrency on the Ethereum blockchain.

There are thousands of other altcoins, but for now, this is the one to know.
Bitcoin: (#BTC)

The first decentralized digital currency.

Launched in 2009 by an unknown person or organization known only as "Satoshi Nakamoto."

It is the most famous, and most valuable cryptocurrency.

1/ "Tell me about a time you had to make a decision, without all of the information required."

There always seems to be an abundance of information, except when you need it most.

2/ "Is it better to have a job done perfectly, and late, or good but on time?"

Paralysis by perfection is an affliction we all suffer from at times.

I've seen a lot of book lists making the rounds on Twitter lately...

Thought it'd be nice if they were all in one place.

So here they are: 10 of the best book lists on Twitter πŸ“š
1/ @AlexAndBooks_

Alex is obviously an expert on books, I mean c'mon. His Twitter handle is "Alex And Books"

The list: "20 Books so good you'll want to read them twice."
2/@RyanHoliday

A personal favorite of mine, Ryan is perhaps the most prolific reader I am aware of.

In his own words, he states, "I read a lot, well, because it's my job."

42 books Ryan says will change your life for the better:

Apple has sold over 200 Million Macs

Yet most users don't know half of what they're capable of.

Here are 7 Things you didn't know your Mac could do. πŸ’»
1/ Specific Screenshots:

SHIFT+CMD+3 will capture your entire screen.

Did you know you can also narrow your capture to a specific portion?

It's easy, & now that I know it exists, I use it every day.

A simple SHIFT+CMD+4 and you're on your way.
2/ Digital Signatures:

Have a PDF you need to sign?

Let's skip all the printing, physical signing, scanning, etc.

Using the "preview" app you can easily create a digital signature.

All you need is a pen, a white piece of paper, & your Mac's camera.
