I asked several what 'rights' they think they had?
Predictably, they sprouted rights defined in the US Constitution & Bill of Rights.
Neither of these documents apply to Australia.

Australia does NOT have a Bill of Rights which enshrines the rights of the individual.
The Australian Constitution defines individual rights of religion, discrimination, acquisition of property, free trade between states & the right to trial by jury.
The Australian Constitution is nothing like the American Constitution.
When I was little we had a lot more UK influence in popular culture, over the years that has been surpassed by USA influence. Both are now embedded in our culture.

The average punter doesn't really know what govt does or what the three levels of govt are responsible for.
And the average punter often can't differentiate between the Australian Constitution & the US Constitution.
🐝 #auspol
When I pointed out that the US Constitution does not apply to the vax-hesitant family members, they next they sprouted Articles 19 & 20 ICCPR+, i.e. human rights defined in international law.
I explained that Australian Law always trumps international agreements/law.
🐝 #auspol
Australian Govts, by law, don't have to stick to international agreements, for the most part they do but it is NOT enshrined in Australian Law that they must.
When push comes to shove, Australian Law will trump international law.

So, my point here is that vaccine hesitancy stems from a fundamental lack of knowledge about the Australian political system.
Australians only have 'rights' on the good graces of the govt of the time. They are not enshrined in law & can be taken away at any time.

We actually don't even have the 'right' to free speech enshrined in the Australian Constitution.
Of course, my family argued the opposite, so I told them to show me the legislation where this right is enshrined for individuals.
Finally, this point makes our previous referendums on a Republic seem moot.
An uneducated citizenry cannot make informed votes on such important matters as Constitutional changes or Australia becoming a Republic.
🐝 #auspol
If we become a Republic we can write our Bill of Rights & enshrine individual freedoms in law.
Perhaps the silver lining to the dark cloud of pandemic will be Australians striving to create a better society & to determine our own destiny as a Republic.

I rent, I had a scheduled inspection a couple of wks ago.
I have a lovely property agent & agency. Over the last few years we've built up a rapport whenever I've seen my PA from time to time.
Last time she came she told me that she won't be my property agent anymore
🐝 #auspol
Disappointed, I asked why?
She said "I've thought about it for a while & I've decided to go into sales, this is the direction I want my career to go".
I told her that even though I'll miss her, I wish her every success in the world.

And, I told her how beautifully empowering it was to just hear her speak that way.
This is exactly what the women of my age fought for, so young women, our daughters & granddaughters can make these plans for their lives, their families, their careers. Their choice.

I want to represent the ppl, but I'm just a normal person, but broke as fuck
I'd be up against Bert van Manen, in Forde QLD, he's a vanilla candidate easily beaten by someone like me with audacity & passion

Let's plan this
To take on the LNP I'm gonna need money & support, lots of it.
I'm willing to do this but only if my community supports me.
I'm a proud Labor member but my problem is that even if Labor takes me on I'll always have a higher obligation to my community ...
🐝
than to my party, that doesn't mean I don't support my party it just means I have a higher obligation to the Australian ppl & Forde. I'll vote along ALP lines but if elected by my community then I owe a greater obligation to them, my party second. That's OK

David Littleproud is in a relationship with Annabelle Douglas- started in 2018
Turnbull introduced #bonkban Feb 18- Littleproud replaced Barnaby Joyce Feb 18- hence the big cover-up of his relationship with HIS media advisor in 18
🐝 #auspol#insiders
Notice the difference in LinkedIn records back then & now- Ms Douglas has taken steps to cover-up her employment history with Minister Littleproud
By rights, Littleproud should've lost his job in 2018 for his Ministerial breach- he didn't, still has his job
