Life is short.

Let's share some positivity.

How to be a better person -> Today 🧵
Be helpful:

Open a door, carry a bag, lend a hand.

It doesn't take much.

Small gestures of kindness bestowed upon others have a compounding effect.

Take 10 seconds -> change someone's day.
Lend an ear:

Listening is a lost art.

Sometimes people don't want you to solve their problems, they just want someone to talk to.

We all need to vent from time to time.

Quit trying to "fix it" and just listen.
Be genuine:

Ask people how they're doing, and mean it.

We've all been there:

Someone asks how your day was and you respond with the standard: "Fine, good, ok," etc.

Next time, try giving a genuine answer, with detail.

Once you're done, ask the other person to do the same.
Say thank you:

It means more than you think.

Letting others know you appreciate them, their efforts, & what they do for you never gets old.

Sadly, those closest to us are often the ones we forget to acknowledge.

Tell your spouse, your parents, your friends.

It matters.
Teach:

Take time to help someone learn.

Mentoring others & sharing your knowledge is one of the most rewarding endeavors in life.

It's beneficial for you & the person you're teaching.

The passing of knowledge is perhaps the most important form of paying it forward.
Practice Forgiveness:

Forgiving doesn't mean forgetting.

It means letting go.

Release yourself from the need for an apology & focus on moving forward rather than dwelling on the past.

It's not always easy, but cutting people some slack when they make a mistake is freeing.
Don't Judge:

You don't live someone else's life.

You don't know their situation.

Rather than expressing your thoughts on how they "should" be doing something, try this:

Remove your opinion & ask how you can help.
Praise someone:

Funny, we're not always the best at knowing how to handle compliments.

We also never get tired of hearing them.

Praising someone is a great way to let them know you care.

When was the last time you were told you did something well and felt worse afterward?
Have patience:

"Patience isn't the ability to wait, but the ability to keep a good attitude while doing it."

Take a step back, look at the big picture, & choose empathy instead.

Often there may be a reason things are taking longer than you'd like, which you haven't considered.
Smile:

Every time you smile your brain releases tiny molecules that help to reduce stress called neuropeptides.

What happens next?

Other neurotransmitters like dopamine, serotonin, & endorphins come flooding in.

Put simply, you'll feel better.

Don't believe me? Try it!
Thank you!

There are currently over 1.86 Billion websites.

Few provide any real value.

Here are 7 that do: 🧵
1/ Attend the Ivy League:

Always thought it would be cool to go to an Ivy League school?

Here's your chance.

Free lecture notes, exams, and videos from MIT.
ocw.mit.edu
2/ Millions of books: Available for free.

Booklists seem to be all the rage recently on Twitter.

(I'm guilty of posting a couple myself)

Instead of a list, here's a link to a library full of them.

The goal:
"A web page for every book ever published."

Feeling out of the loop on Web 3?

No worries, I've got you covered.

A thread on what it is, what's changing, & why you should care.

(In simple terms) 🧵
To understand where we're going, we need to know where we've been.

Web 1.0 - Built for consumption

Think of the web in this era as a giant "digital library."

Characterized by static web pages, the internet was a place users visited to consume, not create.
Web 2.0 - The "Social Web"

The next evolution of the web has allowed the masses to become active participants.

Creating & sharing content through blogs, social media, and various interactive applications.

In short: Everyone can be an author / editor / distributor.

Life:

In a blink it can be over.

None of us are promised anything.

Go do what you want to do. Everyone has reasons that they put it off, whatever "it" is.

The real truth is we're scared. Scared to fail, scared to try, scared of what others might think.

In the end...
None of that matters.

You'll look back on your life with regret not for the things you tried that didn't work, but for the things you never tried at all.

Take the risk. It's worth it.

Barriers such as time, money, job, family, etc. are only barriers if you allow them to be.
Don't have the time or money to go all-out on your dream project?

Fine. Whoever said anything was wrong with starting small?

Some of the largest corporations in the world were founded in bedrooms, basements, and garages.

You just have to want it more.

Think crypto is confusing?

You're right.

Let's make it easier.

Here's Crypto Terminology 101: 🧵
Altcoin:

Any coin that's not #Bitcoin

Ether (#ETH) is the second most popular coin overall and the most well-known Altcoin.

Ether is the native cryptocurrency on the Ethereum blockchain.

There are thousands of other altcoins, but for now, this is the one to know.
Bitcoin: (#BTC)

The first decentralized digital currency.

Launched in 2009 by an unknown person or organization known only as "Satoshi Nakamoto."

It is the most famous, and most valuable cryptocurrency.

Ask better questions.

Get better answers (and people).

11 questions to help you land top talent. 🧵
1/ "Tell me about a time you had to make a decision, without all of the information required."

There always seems to be an abundance of information, except when you need it most.

The best people are able to analyze the available data, weigh potential outcomes, & make a call.
2/ "Is it better to have a job done perfectly, and late, or good but on time?"

Paralysis by perfection is an affliction we all suffer from at times.

Find those who strive for high-quality results, while understanding the machine has to keep moving forward.

Bias toward action.
