Manua is a director and actor based in France, working mainly with the drama company Golden Bastards. Before I became involved in theatre, I studied biology at Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse. I also worked at COP21 as team leader for the United Nations in press conferences.
In 2019, I worked with Association Ishpingo in Ecuador on a reforestation project. During the past four years, I have been an activist with Extinction Rebellion and Alternatiba group, and I am now trying to create a bridge between performance art and ecological activism.
Why I’m acting: I wanted to join Scientist Rebellion for this action because I am gravely concerned about biodiversity breakdown. In fifty years, 68% of wild vertebrate animals have died out. I can’t sit on my hands and do nothing.

🧵This morning #ScientistRebellion occupied King George V Bridge in Glasgow! #COP26 has failed, and the people must go into civil resistance! As scientists we feel that we must support those struggling to have their voices heard. 🧵
