Sixth Plenum Communiqué, 中国共产党第十九届中央委员会第六次全体会议公报 news.cn/politics/2021-…: 7 mentions of Mao (but 5 to MZD Thought), 5 mentions of DXP (but 4 to DXP Theory), only 1 mention of JZM (and 4 mentions of Three Represents), 1 of Hu Jintao (4 of Sci. Dev. Concept)
Seventeen references to Xi Jinping (and 7 to XJP's Thought-- not to the foreshortened 习近平思想 as some had conjectured)-- but to the full "Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era)
That said XJP Thought is hailed as nothing less than "contemporary Chinese Marxism, 21st Century Marxism, & the essence of Chinese culture and Chinese spirit. It has achieved a new leap in the sinicization of Marxism."
The Communiqué also notes that when "the Party established Comrade XJP as the core of the Party Central Committee & in the position of the core of the entire Party," it likewise established XJP’s "guiding position" in the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
Read alongside the final two paragraphs in which the "Party Central Committee calls on the whole Party, army & nation to unite more closely around the Party Central Committee with XJP as the core," to fully implement his thought..
and "to move forward courageously, to achieve the second centenary's Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation & the unremitting struggle to achieve the goals of the second hundred years of struggle," either XJP will remain in the "core position" until 2049...
Or find a designated loyalist successor (a true loyalist) worthy of carrying his mantle (the fruition of XJP Thought) until that goal is realised-- the goal being the total "rejuvenation of the great Chinese nation."
Final observation (after conversation w/the "real" @jcmittelstaedt): all were so confident of this outcome that XJP taped his keynote address to APEC *before* the Plenum ended, according to Hua Chunying: 習近平11月12日將出席APEC第28次領導人非正式會議dwnews.com/%E5%85%A8%E7%9…

人民日报: New collection of 50 speeches by #China's Xi Jinping published under the title of "On Persisting with the People as Masters of the Country" (elaborating on the peoples democratic dictatorship) 习近平同志《论坚持人民当家作主》出版发行 paper.people.com.cn/rmrb/html/2021…
人民日报 p. 2 outlines some of the included speeches, including an address by XJP on implementing the spirit of the Sixth Plenum of the 18th Party Congress (so, of the *last* Sixth Plenum): "Maintain the authority of the Party Central Committee & implement democratic centralism"
Although Xi's address at the Jan 2017 Sixth Plenum focused on Party discipline & organizational life (excerpt: xinhuanet.com/politics/2017-…), his Feb speech on implementing the *spirit* of the plenary offered a vigorous defence of the CCP's system of democratic centralism (民主集中).

The Palladium: "What is singularly remarkable about Wang Huning is that he’s managed to serve [as] court philosopher to not just one, but all three of #China’s previous top leaders palladiummag.com/2021/10/11/the…
Among the hints that the upcoming 6th Plenum in November will produce a third Resolution on Party History is that Wang Huning hasn't been seen much in public for the past several months.
N.S. Lyons describes #China's Wang Huning as someone who "much prefers the shadows to the limelight. An insomniac & workaholic, former friends & colleagues describe the bespectacled, soft-spoken political theorist as introverted & obsessively discreet." His workaholism shows

1/端傳媒 with a fascinating piece on Worshipping Mao to Suppress Deng 崇毛抑鄧?習時代對兩個領導人的重塑和打通四個「三十年」的野心 Is Xi recovering Mao as the "great man" or "hero" of CCP history, and relegating Deng to a mere "inheritor" of socialism? theinitium.com/article/202106…
2/ The author argues that by focusing on Mao's skill in Party-building, cultivating the "revolutionary tradition" & "red gene" of the CCP, Deng's decidedly secondary contribution is relegated to "reform & opening" & developing "socialism with Chinese characteristics".
3/ The author then adopts the keyword counting method used by @cnmediaproject to come up with levels of "warmth" in political discourse. From 2013 to 2019, the author finds Mao is pretty consistently hotter than Deng, w/a brief deflation due to #COVID19 in 2020 Image
