THREAD We condemn today’s UK High Court decision to allow the extradition of Julian Assange to the US, which will prove historic for all the wrong reasons. We fully believe that Julian Assange has been targeted for his contributions to journalism.
We defend this case because of its dangerous implications for the future of press freedom around the world. It is time to put a stop to this more than decade-long persecution once and for all. It is time to free Assange.
This decision is announced the day when the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded to two journalists and when 111 governments are invited to the US-led Summit for Democracy. There could not be a bigger symbol of contradiction. #PressFreedom

What the Israeli army asserts, namely that the alleged presence of Hamas in the buildings would make them legitimate military objectives is absolutely false from a legal point of view, since they also house civilians, such as the media. #GazaUnderAttack
Even assuming that the Israeli fire was necessary (which is absolutely not proven), the total destruction of the buildings demonstrates that the principles of distinction and proportionality have been flagrantly violated.

THREAD Ce soir, nous avons saisi formellement la Procureure de la Cour pénale internationale, Fatou Bensouda, à propos des bombardements des installations et équipements de médias locaux et internationaux à #Gaza depuis le 11 mai, que nous considérons comme des crimes de guerre.
Ce qu’affirme l’armée israélienne, à savoir que la présence prétendue du Hamas dans les immeubles ferait de ces derniers des objectifs militaires légitimes est absolument faux sur le plan juridique, dès lors qu’ils abritent aussi des civils, en l'occurrence des médias.

THREAD Je sors de la réunion avec le Premier ministre. Nous n'avons pas obtenu (pour l'instant) la suppression de l'article 24 de la #PPLSecuriteGlobale, mais @JeanCASTEX nous a annoncé la création prochaine d'une commission indépendante pour statuer sur cet article.
Cette commission sera chargée "d'éclairer le gouvernement sans se substituer à la représentation nationale". Le Premier ministre affirme être "disposé à modifier le texte jusqu'à ce que toute ambiguïté ait disparu".
.@JeanCASTEX soutient que son objectif de protéger les policiers, et "si on lui fait la démonstration que le texte (article 24) n'apporte rien, son but sera atteint".
